    Noise in driveline, pinion bearing?

I won't get to it today, but will dive into tomorrow hopefully. My luck will be it's too tight and I would need to replace the crush sleeve and likely the bearings, or rebuild the rear. I can't tell for sure but under a good load if there is a faint growl starting, it might be masked by the...

    Noise in driveline, pinion bearing?

Yeah, that's the only part of this that gives me worry. The shop that did the seal, has experience with this as they have been racing for 40 years, and have set up many rears. However.....that doesn't mean the tech who did the job was careful enough so I agree your concern is very plausible. I...

    Noise in driveline, pinion bearing?

2012 Yukon XL Denali AWD. I have had this driveline noise for a little while, seems to be slightly more noticeable and I'm not sure what it is, my guess is maybe the pinion bearing. Short history, it has 120K miles, bought it with 90K, all service is documented at dealer. When I bought it, I...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes, it was level, but my phone was tilted. That spot was angled very slightly towards the front, but was level from left to right. My driveway isn't level and I can see how my rear axle is slightly tilted so that's a no go for ALC. I don't think a full tank matters too much, it should...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally performed the ALC reset on the load leveling suspension in the Yukon. I replaced the rears with the Arnott last year and finally the front with OE Z55 BDI cartridges. I should have reset the ALC with the new rear shocks. The ride is good, but have had this slight "washboard" sensation...

Debating replacing torque converter as preventative maintenance

Sorry, I was referring to where the bottom of the plate for the rear seal meets up with the rear of the oil pan. At least it looks like they join there.

Debating replacing torque converter as preventative maintenance

Thanks, I will check out the HF jack, also looking to get one for ATV's so maybe this will serve both. Nice write up @donjetman What seals the bottom of the rear seal to the pan?

Debating replacing torque converter as preventative maintenance

This is for my 2012 XL Denali, for the sake of discussion, I currently I have no issues with my transmission. Going back....I was aware of the issues with the 6L80E in general before I bought this 2 years ago, so my plan was very likely to replace the converter in whatever I bought. Dealer...

Need help diagnosing "Service Air Bag"

Both screenshots are the same prior to pulling connectors. The subsequent screenshot of 2.9 ohms on loop 1 was today after I tore into all the wiring.

Need help diagnosing "Service Air Bag"

Further progress and hopefully a possible closure. I pulled both front impact sensors and tested the resistance, both measured 2.9-3 ohms. I seated and reseated both connectors a few times, no visible signs of corrosion. I removed all the locking harnesses from the module inside the driver's...

Need help diagnosing "Service Air Bag"

Update on this after my vacation last week. For about 8 days, I had no Service Airbag warning on, but when I returned home, the next day it showed up again. Today I pulled the steering wheel, removed the clock spring, and I ohm tested the 4 wires from the two airbag connectors back to the...

    Rough Idle

When you say "Rough Idle" , are you referring to a slight shake felt when stopped in gear? I had that after I replaced my plugs and wires and the broken LH motor mount. Had a slight rough idle before all that, but afterwards it wasn't fully cured. What cured my "felt rough idle" when in gear...

    Pulling rear axle bearings

What are the more trusted axle shafts other than OE? Prices do look good for most, safe bet all are decent but wanted to ask.

    Rear U joint replacement

Strength was a concern since the OE was non-greasable, and I did read about the non-greasable joints being stronger. I contacted a Spicer distributer/installer and he mentioned the 5-1350-1X was built stronger like a non-grease joint, but with the greasable feature. Looking at my OE rear...

'12 Denali AWD RH motor mount replacement

Mine were bad at that mileage also, driver's side lifted up under load. That fixed half the felt vibration, once the passenger side was replaced, it felt like a new vehicle when idling under load. That's the side that gets pressed down constantly, so when the rubber wears, it's pretty much...

Amy decent 2nd row headrest cup holders?

Thanks, I did look ar that, but the headrest posts are 7" apart so that is about 3/4" too narrow at the mount.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Trans mount on '12 Yukon, last mount to do after both motor mounts and front diff brackets. The RH motor mount made a huge difference in overall smoothness. The trans mount looked ok overall, but had a crack where it met the metal bracket.

Amy decent 2nd row headrest cup holders?

Those can work, I wish the hangars sat deeper in the window seal though.

Amy decent 2nd row headrest cup holders?

With a 2nd row bench, I can't use a floor console, so curious if anyone has had good luck with any of the hanging cup holders. If so, what has worked? Thanks.

    Rear U joint replacement

So it appears the correct GM part # for my rear driveshaft is 89059111. However there's no way I'm paying $140 for one u-joint. Going to settle with aftermarket, I've never had bad luck with them anyway.

Need help diagnosing "Service Air Bag"

I removed the airbag today, all the connections are clean. I removed the two connectors and re-installed but the "Service Air Bag" light still illuminated as soon as the key was turned. I assume the "Loop 1 Resistance" as shown in the Tech 2 is through the airbag itself?

2012 XL Denali AWD steering shake over large bumps.

I agree it's likely not the tires, I just wanted to document what I had for sake of discussion. What I get is a quick back and forth movement and it quickly settles. This is over something like a sharp transition in the road, where the concrete overpass meets the asphalt and the surfaces...

2012 XL Denali AWD steering shake over large bumps.

I will check the rack bushings. Would these need to be pressed in/out?

2012 XL Denali AWD steering shake over large bumps.

This is something I noticed when I bought this used 2 years ago, doesn't happen over light to medium bumps, but at hwy speeds over a good bump, the steering wheel will shake back and forth a couple times then quickly settle. What I have done since purchase is new Defender LTX, new OE front...
