    K&N air filter

Interesting thread from this very forum back in 2011. The 03 and up does not even have a cabin filter. Whose bright idea was THAT? https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/cabin-air-filter-where-is-it.26947/

    K&N air filter

Oh how I wish I could!!! Apparently, on the 03, they changed it so that you can’t get to the cabin air filter (if there even is one) without taking a sawzall under the dash! That’s the first thing I wanted to do when I got it. I was having trouble trying to find the replacement filter, so I...

    K&N air filter

So I finally got around to inspecting my air filter, and it was just disgusting! Clogged and filthy... and when I removed it I had to vacuum all this crap out of the air box! Cleaned that up and installed a K&N air filter into the stock air box. What a difference in performance! (Partly due...

    Retractable Cargo Cover Question

I’m seeing a few here and there, but not sure what fits my 03 Tahoe! Some are advertised as 66’ wide, some at 63 or 63 1/2. I measured the width of the mounting holes in my Tahoe and it’s aprox 63 ish. But some claim they’ll all fit the Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL. Some sellers aren’t...

Check enginel light and “reduced power” on the DIC came on

What a PITA! Wonder what it could be? So, essentially, you replaced the throttle body and pigtail for nothing ? So it’s gotta be a ground or a faulty wire somewhere? Mine reset on it own, but I’m glad I have the scanner now to reset it right away if it happens again.

Check enginel light and “reduced power” on the DIC came on

Does it matter whether or not I clear it with the scanner?

Check enginel light and “reduced power” on the DIC came on

OK, so I went to Pep Boys and bought this little PT Diagnostic Scan Tool (W2977) for 20 bucks. It's really just a code reader, but it erases and re-sets, so it's better than nothing...until I learn what I am doing. So I plugged it in and followed the directions. I was half-expecting to see a...

Check enginel light and “reduced power” on the DIC came on

I bought this 03 Tahoe last month. Learning about these vehicles as I go. The first lesson was when the fuel pump crapped out and had to have it and the filter replaced. (Cost a small fortune!) The second is finding out about Nivomat shocks! (Gonna cost another small fortune!). Had to get 5 new...

Check enginel light and “reduced power” on the DIC came on

Driving the Tahoe tonight, and kinda “stepped on it”, to accelerate quickly when all of a sudden the check engine light came on and stayed on and the DIC displayed “reduced power.” I could still drive it although slowly. Got the car home ( only about 3 blocks away) and turned it off immediately...

There are these closed slots in the front bumper

... just above the license plate. It looks like they are closed-off vents? I’d use the search feature, but I don’t know what they are called. I did a google images search, and it seems like some are opened, and some, like mine, are closed. Curious as to what they are and why they’d be closed off.

That’s what I’m using. In the interim anyway.

    Looking for guidance on purchase

Curious, but if the previous owners took it to a place like Jiffy Lube for oil changes and maintenance, would that show up on CarFax?

Installing a rear view backup camera

Definitely on my ‘eventually list’! I’m doing the necessities first. Next up on the ‘necessities list’ is the cargo- cover/ shade.
