Loss of ECBM
Never hurts to check fuses and give all of the wires under the hood a good look over with a flashlight.
Look for signs of rodents “poopoo” little feet marks, wires that may be laying on hot parts or rubbing or that have been chewed on.
That’s a nice set up.
Congrats
If you’re going to do the rear seal might as well knock it all out while you’re that deep into it.
Front seal, rear seal, oil pan gasket, timing chain, timing cover gasket, new oil pump.
I did the new gaskets for one of my Tahoe’s and for my nieces suburban...
Would not have posted this but could find nothing from previous discussion in regard to the PO609 code on the 2007 to 2014 Tahoe’s.
About 4 days ago I installed the Superchips Flashpaq 2845 F5 and have only disabled the AFM active fuel management and switched to performance mode.
Speed and rev...
Amazon has a few different shorty headers from a few different sellers.
One of them is the 1 5/8 inlet shortys for only $116 bucks.
Others are $163
Of course kooks for $500 plus.
I’ve kind of got my eye on the MNA ones for $116 dollars.
I actually found MNA’s mailing address and phone number...
The day I went to go pick up the Tahoe from the City after paying for it I was given a envelope with papers for the Tahoe among them was the original window sticker.
2007 Retired Police Tahoe
Bought it with 81,000 miles at 82,000 miles I installed the DIC buttons "Driver information center" and right away checked the engine hours and it showed 530 hours.
Not sure how that is even possible.
Those are both good deals on the East Coast.
Ive been doing some reading and have decided that the way to build a twin set up that would handle more than just 8psi, would be get another 5.3 or 6.0 is one can be found and put some good connecting rods in and some good head gaskets with head...
Yes
Transmission would for sure be feeling it.
Why not a standard shift transmission?
Whould be so fun.
6 speed manual with twins on a retired police tahoe.
Here is the link to the company that has the twin set up.
Looks like it would make a lot of heat.
Id be concerned about the catalytic converters not being able to handle the high egt's and the engine compartment will likely be holding a lot of heat in these hot Texas summers, but you could...
All back together up and running just fine.
Used the superchips flashpaq 2845 to disable the AFM and I gotta say the stupidchips programmer is a joke.
Takes nearly 10 mins to make small adjustments.
Zero performance at all.
Sometimes when using the programmer just to make sure the AFM is...
That’s really cool
That system should also have a carbon dioxide detector and do the same things if the sensor detects carbon dioxide or excessive temps for the k9.
If carbon dioxide is detected it should also page you and sound the alarm and drop the windows and run the k9 window fans.
You...
Good Morning Ron
The cup of fuel was likely because of the #4 intake lifter being collapsed and the injector spraying but the valve was not opening, so the fuel just kept adding up.
I suppose the collapsed lifter was the intake side and not the exhaust side.
Im not even sure.
Today everything...
I have noticed others who own PPV vehicles and seem to have one goal in mind and that is to make their PPV look and function in every way as a real Police car, outfitting them with red and blue flashing lights with working spotlights and even going as far as buying the rear pillar mounts for the...
Ouch
Was about to get everything back together and noticed the #4 intake valve chamber on the head is holding about a cup of coolant.
Ouch
Guess I’ve got crackedhead or popped a head gasket.
Crud
Boohoo

Here are the specs for a LMG.
I was going to post a link but links seem to always end up fading away or become inaccessible at some time or another for people wanting to access them.
Thought this was very interesting.
Each RPO code also has specifications on the exact motor.
RPO = A Regular Production Option (RPO) is a...
I like how $65 dollars was charged for rear door lock inop. All that meant was that the door lock was bent 90 degrees and tucked behind the panel. LOL
And the $65 dollars for the rear door handle inop meant, leave door latch cable disconnected from latch. LOL
inop = inoperable
Here are some current photos of my stock valve covers.
2007 retired police Tahoe 5.3lt
For some reason the passenger side is really clean looking but not so much on the driver side.
