Hello all. I am picking up a new Yukon AT4 next week, and I can't wait! The only thing I really hate about the aesthetics of it is the carbon fiber trim. I have never liked the look. My plan was to buy all of the wood trim from the AT4 Ultimate and swap it out, but it looks like the door panel trim isn't sold without purchasing an entirely new door panel, not just the insert itself.

Has anyone successfully swapped their trim in one of these vehicles? Wrapped it? Even bought the new door panels and popped the insert out to swap? Need to figure out something to get rid of the carbon fiber. My overwhelming preference being to figure out a way to get the OEM black wood from the Ultimate. Any advice would be appreciated!

Congrats on the new purchase. If it's only those trim pieces that are of concern, I believe the most economical option would be to have them wrapped. The challenge would be finding an acceptable wrap with the desired sheen & texture. Especially if the dash trim pieces are swapped for the OE Ultimate spec ones. Otherwise, you're dealing with the expense and any possible availability issues sourcing new door panels.

Try EBay, I was searching for something else and a couple links came up for door panels and steering wheel trim
There are a lot of options for this

From what I know the whole door panel is the lowest replaceable assembly. I don’t think you can remove parts of the door panel. The correct way to do this (and probably expensive) is to buy new door panels from the truck you want it to look like.

I tried to remove parts of the door panel on a 2015 before and no luck, it’s all glued together as one piece.

I get why they do that to make the trucks less prone to rattles and squeaks.

+1 on the wrap strategy. Way cheaper, and if you don't like it, it isn't permanent.

There a couple of on line GM dealers who were really great when I ordered all the parts to BLACK OUT my Danali XL. One is in Ottawa Canada and there is one in Florida. They run into this stuff all the time and prices are really great as they get high rebates due to volume
