Hi folks, I found out that the Yukon is a 6 Bolt, standard 6x5.5 inch pattern.
So I should be able to go larger than the current 16 inch alloys wheels.
Question is, the wheel wells are small and the whole vehicle is pretty low.
So what is the largest wheel that someone's tried that hasn't resulted in Well-Rubbing
:)

I ran the 2016 Silverado rims, 18" on my 2003 Yukon in the picture avatar. They looked good and ran fine. No rubbing.

My Michelin LTX 2 tires were 275 profile. I don't remember the full tire size and truck is now sold.

305's will rub a little bit at full lock, you can run up to 22's if you really wanted to without any significant adjustments. 20's are a happy medium, so like. 295/45r20 should go right on and should not rub but if they do you just pull the shroud back with zip ties. You could go 275 but the slimmer you go the less curbrash protection you have
Always wise to confirm with a wheel shop in any case

It's not the wheel size that can be the issue, it's the tire profile. You'll need tires with a shorter aspect ratio to mimic the overall size of the OE tires, or to right-size them for your case.

I run 18" 2015 Silverado wheels with 265-65/R18 tires, which is the stock size for the Silvy. They are slightly taller (1/2"?) overall than my OE 16s. YMMV

My '02 Tahoe Z71 had 265/65R18 (31.56" tall) from previous owner, there was some noticeable rub at full steering lock, otherwise no issue.
Switched to 255/70R18 (32.05" tall), less rubbing, despite taller tires on the same wheels, going from 265-wide to 255-wide reduced the rubbing.

Learned that 265/70R17 tires'd be a better value; higher load ratings, far more tire choices, could still fit GMTT1xx 4piston calipers with these 17" wheels:

So I'll be switching to 265/70R17 before Nov '26. Despite the full steering lock rubbing, can't visually find any evidence of rub ...

If I remember correctly, GM OE tires for '04 Suburbans & XLs are
265/70R16 - 30.60" tall
265/70R17 - 31.60" tall
Which ones do you have, @Piper724?

I have 275/60/R20's (roughly a 33" tire) on my 06 escalade at stock ride height and i have zero rubbing, had those same wheels and tires on my 05 yukon XL denali and they scrubbed the front of the wheel wheel a tiny bit when turning.
