I for one haven’t had mine over 90mph.

I was talking to my neighbors the other day and one has a 2026 sierra at4 with the 6.2 and the other has a 2025 Escalade with the 6.2.

They both told me they can’t go faster than 110mph or something and they are upset about it lol.

So is there a software limit on these things for top speed? I’m curious.

Doesn’t bother me it’s probably a good thing for me personally!

I can tell you the Tahoe PPV has a software enabled speed limiter so I'm going to assume retail Tahoe's have the same.

The idea being the LE Agencies can limit their fleet top speed based on their internal policies.

Ford does it on the PIU and F150 Responder as well, not every Agency wants their vehicles doing the 140MPH top speed.

Its adjustable using Ford FDRS software and VCM3 tool, so the GM Tech Tool probably same process.

I believe all vehicles now have a limited top speed. I am not sure why someone needs to go over a 100 mph in a 6,000 lbs. truck, but whatever.

on yours you would need to send the ecm in for unlocking, there is nothing off the shelf or otherwise that I am aware of that will do it (yet)
your going to be limited to 115 or less on all t2's, unless it's a ppv which as already noted is going to be set at whatever the department allowed.
one may allow 125 another 140 or anywhere in between

I think the Esky V is limited to 125. Tire related I'm guessing.

that's possible I didn't do specific research, just going off what gm has always done for the last 30 years or so. some will be 99, 105, 110, 115
corvette's seem to be one of the few exceptions along with the Camaro or blackwing. But Those are not suv's

Sounds like the neighbors just need to set their alarm a bit earlier in the morning if 110mph limit is making them late.

Even tuners won't raise speed limit unless proof of speed rated tire. Don't need Suburban and large trucks going over a 100 miles an hour. Most drivers can't handle what they currently have while looking on their phones.

Yeah, I'm sure GM's lawyers have a say in this.

that's not true, not to say there could be one or another out there with said policy but it's not a general across the board policy by any means.
especially considering I can drive 2 blocks and buy a tuner for anything that is not global b locked out and walk out the door no questions asked.
then turn around and set the limit to none and drive off on 4 spare donuts
not a matter of what "we need" or do not need. you have no say so in the matter

Do it, I dare you. I triple dog dare you. (Wait maybe he's already done it so he knows it will work.)
all 3 of my current vehicles have no limiter, and anything I have owned in the last 30 years has no limiter...
the one that I do tend to get spirited with has 160mph rated tires, just because.....there are a "few" brain cells remaining, not too many but a few anyway

Not just GM lawyers, any lawyer. If you got into a crash with injuries and lawyers found out speed limiter was raised, I can only imagine what would happen. I am surprised to hear someone would take off limiter for someone else in this litigious society we live in.

if you are fault then you at fault doesn't matter if it was 5mph or 180mph.
excessive speed is excessive speed, if I get a speeding ticket for doing 125 in a vehicle that was only normally able to do 100 there's no extra bs involved, it's a ticket.
there's no law saying you cannot modify your vehicle, otherwise you would not be able to walk into a store and buy a tuner.
has the epa been involved sure, but the majority of tuners are following the rules of emissions. tuners sold here in CA have passed all the rules, those rules do not encompass speed.
