I've got a loud rubbery squealing sound from the wipers against the glass. Is this just the quality/brand of wiper inserts? I notice that on certain intermittent settings the noise goes away, but when running on the fastest setting, the squeal is very loud in the cabin. When I turn it down just one notch, it becomes pretty quiet, but not cleaning the glass as needed.

Time for new blades and a thorough windshield clean beforehand to reduce wear on the new blades. I use a razor blade to remove all objexits foreign to the glass.

you could try cleaning them with a soft towel/rag and rubbing alcohol, I cleaned mine just before the last rain, previous to this they didn't squeak, afterwards one squeaks lol, but hey it's worth a shot I pay like $50+ for the good ones so not something I look forward to replacing as often.

I use the Trico Flex blades and Aquapel on the glass and never get any squealing or skipping. I like the Aquapel over Rain-X since I get about 6 months per application.

In west Florida, it's not too difficult to keep the windshield clean (rain).... But I am also a fanatic about cleaning the windshield / blades, and I have pretty new Bosch blades.

Still, the driver-side blade hops on the glass, on slow to medium speeds sometimes.

Grrrrrrr....

I keep wondering if the cause is ....some blade attachments don't properly fit the wiper arm as they should, causing that wiggle.
