Factory skid plates installed on 2015 Tahoe LT (GM # 23176881)
I realize this thread is stale but I'm going to have to respectfully 'cry foul' on this one, unless the aluminum is at least 3/8" thick it isn't going to do diddly, it's not going to "skid you across". These are stone shields at best. -
Adding OEM Tahoe Transf. Case "skid plate" [2015-2020]
My doubling up by spooning the shields would at least make it a little stronger and perhaps give you more warning time and require more force to biff the TC. At the time this was originally posted the plates were pretty cheap. No, these 2015-2020s are not good at rock crawling but can at least... -

Not really that stale at all. Yeah, the manual I got has SOME kind of nav. but no real hyperlinks, a little awkward but still an excellent value for what you get. The paper version of this manual ... Yes, and I was aware after I posted that I hadn't succinctly mentioned any of that, . . . load rating etc.. I was told years ago the they were getting the same load ratings with fewer plies, though I'm not as convinced this has come at the cost of puncture resistance. So I can only assume... -
