Ventilation System: AC compressor 'ON' conditions

So .... from what your saying it sounds like maybe if I re-did the visual compressor test with the temp set higher than outside ambient, the clutch would maybe be disengaged even though the the system was in the ON position for fan use but still with the AC button off (??) Thing is .... I...

Ventilation System: AC compressor 'ON' conditions

"I have a theory, which is mine and I have it." - Monty Python Recently I took a road trip between Chicago and Colo Sprgs. (2020 5.3 MAX towing, otherwise 'Stripper') It was very hot this past July. I usually don't use the AC, preferring to run with the drivers window all the way down and...

Not sure this is going to work out (considering selling after 3 weeks)

I don't have a '21, I have a '20 but I felt I could shed some light on this given it seems like other than losing a solid truck rear diff, column shift, ign switch in column and the sheet metal and entire body is completely different I though they might be similar ... heh heh ... Prior to...

Factory skid plates installed on 2015 Tahoe LT (GM # 23176881)

I realize this thread is stale but I'm going to have to respectfully 'cry foul' on this one, unless the aluminum is at least 3/8" thick it isn't going to do diddly, it's not going to "skid you across". These are stone shields at best.

Adding OEM Tahoe Transf. Case "skid plate" [2015-2020]

My doubling up by spooning the shields would at least make it a little stronger and perhaps give you more warning time and require more force to biff the TC. At the time this was originally posted the plates were pretty cheap. No, these 2015-2020s are not good at rock crawling but can at least...

    Tires that don’t suck

Ick .... my new tires (new at 3,000 mi.) are max 45psi hope that doesn't mean they are load range B. DOH!!! Excellent comment by the way, and yes the construction is different I thought I mentioned that but I can see that I did from where I sit. Man! ... As an Illinoisan (Land of Leavin') who...

'Factory' Service Manuals - The Cheap DVDs: a review

Not really that stale at all. Yeah, the manual I got has SOME kind of nav. but no real hyperlinks, a little awkward but still an excellent value for what you get. The paper version of this manual ... I think I may have mentioned their bulk before. You'd have to hire Ken Starr and his assistants...

    2016 , 5.3L suburban engine clicking/ticking sound

Don't rule out something as simple as a pebble trapped under a heat shield. Good luck.

    New AT Tires

____________ Of the two you listed you can't go wrong with the BF Goodrichs' Personally I wouldn't by General tires but my memory is long enough to recall the problems General, and other companies like Firestone have had. I'm a fan of Cooper tires and BF Goodrich. I wish someone would post...

    What's to like?

I'm planning on posting an extensive review of the 2020 Tahoe based on my experience thus far. Moot, to some extent I suppose because they've moved on to the next gen. but perhaps of some use to used car buyers. I thought I'd share a few random thoughts thus far; Generally speaking, this is...

Let's see your aftermarket running boards!

Hey ...small, front wheel drive....half way decent clearance compared to late model cars, I'm probably the only person that doesn't surprise. You wouldn't believe what my dad did with a fully loaded '70 Buick Estate Wagon, and what I did with a 116" '76 Cutlass. Well .... I guess you would.

Let's see your aftermarket running boards!

The row of Jeeps behind your truck in your profile picture reminds me of all the dweebish newbies to trail driving on organized Jeep Jamborees in Colorado that we would run into on trails I could do in a '72 Nova. That's not a comment directed at you, it just reminded me. Kudos to you for...

    Tires that don’t suck

Yes, and I was aware after I posted that I hadn't succinctly mentioned any of that, . . . load rating etc.. I was told years ago the they were getting the same load ratings with fewer plies, though I'm not as convinced this has come at the cost of puncture resistance. So I can only assume...

'Factory' Service Manuals - The Cheap DVDs: a review

I agree, and since they are so long (many pages) it might actually be more difficult (and take longer) to find what you needed in a printed version. I mean ...the index alone would be about 200 pages.

Let's see your aftermarket running boards!

Nyeah ... I dunno, mAYbeee ... but those tubes look to be just about as thick (tall ) as the plastic running boards. I like the old frame mounted rocker guards you used to see from Jeep and Scout specialty mfgrs. They were snug ...didn't serve ANY purpose except protection. I think one mfgr...
