You dont have to touch the torx bolts at all (they are for aiming the lights).... There are two pins, rotate 90* away from truck and pull straight up. No removal of the shroud is needed. I can take pics if ya want.
There are quite a few things that can be checked.... does it hold water then the truck is cool and not running? How about running but still cool? Hot due toa bad thermostat and the overflow well overflowed? I wouldnt count out the motor just yet.
6.0l Nali... your prob also running AWD. That alone is a draw on the motor when towing.granted an Electric fan would prob help but that increase isnt something I would really worry about. The tranny temps if anything would be what I would watch.
Usually if the CES light is flashing you have some major issues. The Knock sensors are running angry.
I wouldnt swap from one cylinder to another.... Thats not gonna help ya all that much. A weak coil pack maybe fine at low RPM but dead higher in the powerband. Plus you just asking for...
Being for a LS3... no its not a direct swap. Fast makes a Direct swap truck version of the Manifold. Being only a 5.3 you dont need anything remotely bigger then a 90mm throttle body. Thats if thats the route you wanna go.
Since there are no smaller pullies available why not go with an Overdriven crank pulley. Just be careful to match up the crank with the correct blower pulley (may have to be larger). This would accually improve belt wrap and reduce slipping. There may not be a smaller pulley out yep if the snout...
I accually didnt seal them more. One thing I noticed is there are 2 holes in the housing (one with wires and one without) and they have dum dum in them... not silicone. So I was gonna give it bout 2 weeks to see if I end up with an issue. My sockets themselves felt nice and snug but those 2 hole...
