Thanks for the replies so far. The whole trailer and truck are ridiculously clean and the connectors / terminals are as well. Got a chance to do some checking/testing and here’s what I’ve found:
As mentioned connectors look great.
Factory wiring to the fuse block is connected properly...
Not sure of the brand of brakes.....but I’m confident they are magnetic - it’s a Forest River camper.
I’ll do some more research...seems ridiculous the IBTC would “prefer a brand” of brakes ...:
Picked up a camper to do some traveling with and the factory trailer brake controller isn’t working. This is my first GM product so I’m not familiar with the IBTC.
Is there anything I need to do besides hook up the 7-pin and then adjust the gain..? I don’t think the truck is sensing that a...
is the o-ring problem an issue on the later (07-13) 6.0 engines..? I’ve always thought my K2500 should have better oil pressure. About 20 at warm idle. I haven’t owned a GM product for years and this one only a few months.
Blizzak tires are great Winter tires, but are expensive and do wear quickly. I don’t use them year-round.
I put a set of DuraTrac on my Suburban and and very pleased with them. Deep tread with wide gap should handle just about any situation. They look great and very little road noise.
As mentioned I bought the truck used with 117k miles from a Dealership. There were no maintenance records so I had to go by cosmetics and overall appearance to get an idea of what type of care it received. It’s in VERY good to excellent condition - otherwise I would not have bought it.
I have to...
I like to run in tow/haul mode on occasion even with nothing hooked up to the truck. I like being able to run a little higher engine rpm when it’s cold outside to get things warmed up (I’ve been running 10w-30 engine oil).
It takes a light foot on the throttle to keep things smooth, but that’s...
Outside of the Blackbear tuning I’m pretty up to date on all the 100k mile parts replacement. Didn’t think about 02 sensors....thanks.
With changing the gear oils over to RedLine last week I also dropped the trans pan and changed the filter and added a drain plug for future fluid exchange.
I was...
I’m really liking my 2011 Suburban 2500 SLT and am hoping to make it last another 20-years. Not a daily driver and it has 117k well kept miles on it. What should I be looking at for upgrades to the engine/driveline..? Currently it’s just a family cruiser but hoping to get a pull behind camper...
Thought I better update the thread. Thanks to all for the conversation. The Dealer diagnosis was as follows:
Fuel in tank tested at 80% ethenal - so I didn’t screw that up and, yes, the blue handle pump was E85.
Misfire on the #6 cylinder with a history of misfire on #4 and #8.
Mechanic ran...
Took it to the Dealership that is open on Sunday and the diagnosis :
RPO code L29. Fuel filler cap is yellow marked E85.
Fuel in the tank tests at 75% alcohol. So the blue handle pump is E85 at this station. Which I did verify twice. The Mechanic was able to run it on fuel independent from...
Thanks to those who posted. My wife and I were out on a date so couldn’t respond. I have to clarify that I have never OWNED an E85 capabale vehicle and have zero experience with them. My confusion is because I was told it’s E85 , it has the yellow filler cap stating E85 but no flex-fuel emblems...
