    AIR RIDE CONVERSION

I had my Escalade in the shop for A/C and "rough ride." When I picked it up they said it needed idler and pitman arms, shocks all around, new tires, and alignment - about $5000 worth! I only paid $8000 (a great deal) for it 6 years ago. I find it somewhat hard to believe. My question now is what...

    AIR RIDE CONVERSION

Just a follow-up: I replaced the rears w/ the Bilstein shocks and springs recommended here and it rides much better. I do have a question about the steering arms if anyone wants to go there.

    Question About Idler Arm

This is an old thread but maybe I'll get lucky. '06 2WD Escalade pushing 140,000 miles. In Jan. 2023 I took it in for essentially the 100K mile service. I specifically listed to check "steering and suspension," and they did not raise any issues. But, oddly, after picking it up the ride seemed...

Liftgate actuator. Someone please explain this phenomenon. - SOLVED

OK, first jumped it reversed to make sure that was the solution, and it was. Cut the 2 wires and spliced them back reversed. Fixed. I feel better about WWIII w/China now. Thanks, everyone.

Liftgate actuator. Someone please explain this phenomenon. - SOLVED

The average Joe on Amazon would not be messing w/ wiring, especially on the truck side, so they are not experiencing the same as I am. I thought about this and tugged on the pins hoping they would easily come out but they don't.

Liftgate actuator. Someone please explain this phenomenon. - SOLVED

I have now bought 3 separate brand liftgate actuators on Amazon and every one of them operates backwards - lock unlocks and unlock locks. None of the online reviews mentions this problem so apparently either I got the only 3 screwed up ones in the world or something is else awry. The way they...

    Liftgate won't unlock

"2 different actuators" Different "brands," different sellers. Of course, all these Amazon parts are probably made in the same factory. I've ordered another one for a little more money, hoping it will work. Something is fishy. They have good reviews and no one has mentioned this problem. I put...

    Third row seat question

I haven't but I don't think that's it. The levers on both seats identically won't budge so I think it's more like there is a trick to it. Later: Yep, as I figured, there IS a trick to it. Here is how:

    Liftgate won't unlock

Has anyone else run into this - I have bought 2 different actuators on Amazon and BOTH of them work backwards - lock unlocks and unlock locks. The motor moves the opposite direction it should . But twice?!?

    AIR RIDE CONVERSION

Yea, the auto leveling IS perfect when it works. My previous '02 Tahoe had it too and I don't know how many times I've had to get new shocks, pumps, relays, etc. Tired of messing w/ it. I'm thinking that good conversion shocks/springs are a better tow than non-working air shocks. Right now I'd...

    AIR RIDE CONVERSION

I have an '06 base Escalade that I lucked into 6 years ago at 74,000 miles. it has been a fantastic truck - started out mostly towing a race car w/ it but as time went on it morphed also into a work truck. I bought a GMT800 in the first place because it was the last of the full flat rear...

    Third row seat question

I have an '06 Escalade w/ third row split bench. I took it out when I got the truck and now I want to sell them. The problem is that they are folded over and I cannot get them to unfold. The "1" lever will not budge. What do I do?

Towing MPG (interested in all years, 2000 - 2017)

Seems a bit odd but I get about the same towing a 3000# car on open aluminum trailer at 75 in 3rd as driving around town in D - around 11. Can get 14 on the highway w/o tow.

A DIFFERENT STUCK SPARE TIRE PROBLEM

I'll try to take a photo through the bolts holes but, like I said, my mechanism does not look like ones in the videos or like the one on your '03 Tahoe. IIRC there are no bolts holding it on - looks like it is welded or bonded.

A DIFFERENT STUCK SPARE TIRE PROBLEM

My problem w/ my 2006 Escalade is not the typical secondary latch catching when the tire goes down 3-4". I have a similar but worse problem. The cable lowers but the spare is jammed up tight and will not budge. The tire cannot even be rotated it is so tight. Also, the mechanism on mine does not...
