    04 Tahoe 6.0 NV4500 2wd

:) it’s pending already. It turns out a lot of people want a manual Tahoe. Maybe Chevy should have just made one of these.

    04 Tahoe 6.0 NV4500 2wd

It’s time for me to sell my Tahoe to pay for other projects. It has a good strong 6.0 with some lightly worked 5.3 heads with ls6 valves and a small tsp 212/218 high lift cam. The transmission (manual 5 speed) is freshly rebuilt and the engine has maybe 10 or 15k miles on it since being...

    Rear Suspension Questions

I had to swap my rear diff. I actually had to do it twice so I know my way around back there. While installing everything, I noticed that the rear suspension parts don't really articulate. It's more like they just twist the bushings for articulation. Is that right? I wonder if installing...

    N-FAB Side Steps

Haha. I know. Time is something I lack. The instructions are ****** anyway. After mounting the drivers side on my lunch break, I still think I should move the flange up over the pinch weld. It'll raise the step just enough to look right. If that works, then the process is to mount them under the...

    N-FAB Side Steps

That was a whiny post. Sorry about that. I just read the instructions for the first time. It turns out you mount the flange BELOW the pinch weld. I thought for sure it'd be above. I'll try again later with that knowledge and see if it works any better.

    N-FAB Side Steps

I'm struggling to get a set of side steps tha'll work. I posted about some stock ones that I picked up but the brackets won't work on the passenger side so I bought some N-Fabs and they're complete shit to get mounted as well. I'm really just venting now but maybe someone who has experience with...

    OEM Running Board Differences?

I picked up a set of N-FAB steps unused for cheap. It still looks like a ***** to install them around the AC lines. It also looks like people here have installed them only on the pinch weld but there are holes to mount them through the floor as well. Is there a write up anywhere that I'm missing?

    OEM Running Board Differences?

That does help! The brackets on the boards I got are definitely different than those. Those are the ones I saw on the Tahoe I got under. Looks like I need to get some off of a different tahoe. Thank you for posting that. Is there any chance that you could get a part number for those brackets?

    OEM Running Board Differences?

I just climbed under another Tahoe I saw in a parking lot and they seem to have different brackets. I might see if I can find some.

    OEM Running Board Differences?

I picked up a set of factory running boards that came from an 04 Tahoe to put on my 04 Tahoe. The drivers side one went on fine, except that there were no studs to hang the brackets on. There were threaded holes so I was just going to use bolts. But when I went to mound up the passenger side...

Moisture out the tailpipe, sign of cracked head?

    Water is a reactant from the chemical process of burning fuel and air. C8H18 + 12.5 O2 -> 8 CO2 + 9 H2O

    4L60e 4x4 overdrive out?

The stock torque converter only stalls to about 1600 rpm. It would be hard to tell if it unlocked at a cruising rpm of 2000 or more. It sounds to me like you might have had the shifter in 3rd.

2" or 3" NBS Lowering Springs

I want to level my 04 by dropping the rear. I know someone has some of these sitting on a shelf. Hook me up with a good deal and I'll help you clear that space on your shelf!

2003 Yukon losing ~3 quarts oil over 3k miles

I'm pretty sure you'd notice some oil on the ground if you were leaking 3 quarts between changes. I think you're less likely to be able to tell if its burning some oil. The PCV system could be the culprit, or some worn rings. You could do a compression or leak down test to check the rings. I...
