I picked up a set of factory running boards that came from an 04 Tahoe to put on my 04 Tahoe. The drivers side one went on fine, except that there were no studs to hang the brackets on. There were threaded holes so I was just going to use bolts. But when I went to mound up the passenger side, the hard rear AC lines were completely in the way. There is no way I'm going to manipulate those around these running board brackets. Did I get the wrong running boards? What other kind are there?

Man, I can't help except to tell you that my '01 had both factory running boards and rear A/C, so it's doable.

I just climbed under another Tahoe I saw in a parking lot and they seem to have different brackets. I might see if I can find some.

I took my boards off. I was not able to remove 2 brackets near the ac lines so I just ground them off flush to the body.

Not sure if that's any help.. idk how you would get a bracket up there while the lines are mounted

That does help! The brackets on the boards I got are definitely different than those. Those are the ones I saw on the Tahoe I got under. Looks like I need to get some off of a different tahoe. Thank you for posting that. Is there any chance that you could get a part number for those brackets?

Interesting. Loosen ac line bolts to gain access to bracket bolts. I wonder how durable they are after 15 years of road wear and rust accumulation.

GM#15007929 asst step bracket $26.38 each

brackets share the same part#, says 6 in total. not sure if it's 6 per side or 3 per side which is a total of 6.

i verified with a vin from a 2001 and a 2004.
