Hey guys, a little frustrated after ordering a set of HID's and them not working (off ebay, another member said they worked for them, but they didn't for me). I've installed about 8 sets of HID's on previous cars and motorcycles, so I'm assuming the truck just wasn't accepting them.

ANYWAY, the main question is, are there any HID's out there that are reliable to work on the 2015 Tahoes? I've been reading good things about the theretrofitsource's HID's that they make for the 2015 Tahoe. However, some people are saying you do need so and so harness and others are saying you don't, blah blah.

Anything out there that I can pick up that will work for sure?

Thanks.

Pretty much the same kit I did, works perfect. Zero issues. I did notice that my Onstar monthly email reports the headlamps out but they are fine. Problem with canbus HID ballasts and the relay harness is that the HID canbus ballast gets isolated and essentially does nothing to report to the car the lamp is out or not. I think kbcarstuff has a canbus part that sits inline with the factory connection and the primary side of the relay.

I installed the morimoto kit from theretrofitsource. When you get the kit you have to also select the capacitor link as well.

Just to see if it would work, I first tried installing the kit without it, but the lights flickered. Buy a high quality kit you'll be glad you did.

Did you get the build it yourself kit that was mentioned earlier in this thread or just simply the h11 morimoto kit and the capacitor link?

Money isnt the problem. I want quality and reliability.

I just selected the year/make/model on theretrofitsource.com and went from there. When you click on the h11 kit from that point you still have to add the capacitor link.

If you want quality and reliability, look at the post mentioned above. http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2015-yukon-xl-slt-hid-install.77590/

This is the kit I put together with quality and reliability at the forefront. I did a ton of research before buying anything. Ballasts and bulbs seem to be the weak links with the cheaper set-ups.

Maybe there are cheaper ways to go, but I didn't want lights going out on my wife.

Almost 4 months on my Diode Dynamics kit, and zero issues thus far. If you go with the morimoto kit, don't get the 55w ballasts, they don't last, ask me how I know.
