I have an patriotic apparel company and need to carry around a lot of gear at times. The RR has little cargo capacity and does not really scream Americana like a GMC. I also wanted to have a bit of a head turner for the type of customer I get. Mostly military, law enforcement, gun guys and Crossfit athletes.

I lease my cars through work so I get a new one every three years or so. I really struggled with selling the RR. I had a 2011 RR and traded it on a 14 I ordered months before they actually came out. I loved the 14 and had factory 22's on it. I had it for right at a year and put 19K on it. I sold it without actually ordering a new car because I was offered way more than I owed on it even though it had almost 20K on it. 14 RR's are just not available used so I got away nicely. I am getting ready to order a black on black Denali XL. I am actually renting a Yukon XL monthly until I get mine ordered and delivered. I wanted to make sure I could drive that big ass thing.

You are doing a lot of what I want to by blacking things out. I have spoken with a local custom truck shop. They want to wrap the grill, bezel and fog light area as well as the roof rails, side chrome and the chrome on the running boards. Since it's a leased car I could reverse it if I had to they said. I plan on a badge on the grill identical to yours and I like your idea of painting the Denali though so I willl likely go that route

Where we differ is that I am thinking of putting a leveling kit on it and going with 20" offroad style wheels with more tire to get an offroad look but haven't decided for sure yet. I was thinking of a two tone wheel with black and some brushed color... no chrome.

I'd love to see how yours looks with the blacked out chrome on the roof rails, etc. Any pics of that? Also, any advise would be appreciated?

What part of NC? I'm in Greenville, SC.

Copy... Yeah the full size V8 RRs are VERY nice--A bit pricey for my taste, but if I could I probably would.

Mods are in progress. Should have the wheels installed early next week... Waiting on BellTech and Corsa for the suspension and exhaust options, respectively. I'll post pics along the way.

I'm in Raeford, NC... Just South of Bragg.

You've got me wanting a street look instead of more of a truck look. I thought by blacking the chrome, etc I could get what I want. I looked around and saw a pic that looks pretty smooth. I definitely want to see pics of yours. I'm going to order mine soon so I have a couple of months waiting on delivery in guessing. Mine will be an XL which is one reason I thought the truck look would be best. Check this one out:

I'm liking this transformation. How many front grille designs are there available for the yukon?

Very nice... Love it. I'm not going w/ a 2/4 drop though, just a 2" rear to level it out. I'm also wrapping the chrome roof rails.

Forgive my ignorance. The pic is lowered it looks like to me. I had intended on leveling mine for the off-road look without losing much ride. A guy at the custom truck shop said to level it for whichever way I want to go (street or off-road look).

Leveling is a 2" lift to the front to make it level with the back? Basically just a spacer added without messing with the magnetic ride, right? I guess the opposite of that would be to bring the back down to be level with the front. Is there any issue with that and the magnetic ride?

Since you're going with 24's, they'll fill up the wheel well nicely. I usually think 24's are too big but not on these Denalis.

OK... Wheels installed. BellTech can't make a drop kit fast enough! Oh well, time to delete some more chrome. Better pics coming in this weekend.
