doing the 0411 pcm swap this weekend.was under the impression that i had to pull the instrument cluster to solder a few pcm trans wires into the harness.figured id replace the gauges while i was at it.ordered a 99 escalade cluster on ebay and later found out that the wires for the trans are no longer needed(sweet).so i installed the cluster today.switched to 360* leds and swapped the odometer while it was out(the one i removed had 307,987mi on it). install went smoothly.looks great...except now the rest of my dash looks dim and the color doesnt match the gauges(just ordered leds for the rest of the dash.looking into a new radio/headunit)...also the air bag indicator light is on...and i found a mysterious wiring harness tucked under the gauge cluster.questions
1. how can i turn off the airbag light? scanner? is it something i can have turned off when i get the crank relearn done post pcm swap?

2. does anyone know if the escalade/denali factory bose radio buttons&display are the same blue color as the gauge cluster?(im assuming they are)

3. if yes to #2 did the escalade/denalis only have the bose sound systems?

4. this plug/harness was tucked under the gauge cluster.anyone know what it could be for?fogs? (wires are red.white.blue.grey.black)

thanks for reading all this and any help/insight you may be able to dispense

the airbag failure must be fixed to get that light to go off unless you decide to pull the bulb out. if you have a scanner that can do the case relearn it might be able to diagnose the srs issues so the system will not leave the light on all the time.

you will likely find all the light to be white in color but the have little rubber caps that are colored to get the correct effect on the lighting you see but they illumination lights are typically all the same color in the end view.

those extra connectors are provisions for things like fog switch or rear glass/washer switches.

after the 411 pcm install the airbag indicator light went off...

so that extra harness just runs through the firewall and deadends?i looked for it were it looked like it went through the firewall in the engine compartment this weekend and couldnt find it...
havent investigated it any further, i will when i have the dash apart again once the rest of the leds arrive.was thinking of installing some fog lights.i remember reading somewhere that the factory fog button is hard to find

went to get the case relearn yesterday(didnt work, scanner wouldnt recognize the truck was in park) and had him check the coolant temp at the pcm. 195* at the pcm, and its 235*on the dash gauge. can i just pull the needle off the gauge and move it back 40*? or could the stepper motor be on its way out and need to be replaced?...coolant temp sensor is new.

has been running great.never got the case relearn.havent tried to adjust the coolant temp gauge needle yet.ill give it a try next time i have the dash apart.i havent figured out a way to change the radio/headunit light color to blue to match the dash lights so i might switch out the gauge&hvac control leds to something with more of a yellow/incandescent tint so the gauges match the radio...
glad to have you back here SLC

at the moment im in the process of replacing some worn out leather seat covers, steam cleaning the carpet and installing seat heaters in the front. still need to find a, key-on 20a power source for the seat heaters, any suggestions?

In the radio and other places with colored lights you will likely find white lights with colored rubber covers that change the color. Try looking hear.

take apart the clusters and remove/replace the odometers

it's just a few screws with torx heads IIRC
