G4 or G5 tails?

Looking at some led tails for my 07 denali. What's the difference between the G4 Leds and the G5 Leds? G4s are direct fit correct? What is needed to fit the G5s? They both equally bright?

long story short.

Both are plug and play.

G4 are smooth contoured and G5 are exact escalade replicas with PLEAT.

I would go with G5 tails man, IMHO they look ten times better with esky appliques and the rear spoiler all color-matched.

Cool thanks for the replies guys. I'll search for the threads! Unless if you have the link handy dandy. But to make the G5s work I need the escalade appliques? Are those direct bolt on or is modification neeeded to fit my denali?

Everything is practically a bolt on........ unless you get oem Escalade tails. They need a modified harness that a member "yeti" can supply.

Both the G4 and G5 taillights fit and plug in/work with no modifications. But, since the G5s are SHAPED just like the Escalade tails, and since the Escalade has appliqués that are SHAPED like the tails, the G5s only LOOK RIGHT if you also get Esky appliqués.

G4s + your factory appliqués = looks great.

G5s + your factory appliqués = looks bad.

G5s + Esky appliques = looks great.

I had both.

G4 are really big looking lights. They almost look too plain without a pleat for such a big light. G5s look better

I have the g5 with stock Tahoe appliqué. Looks just fine.

They look good to me! Maybe in person it's different? Or why do you guys say it doesn't look good? Just because of the shape of the G5 tail light I'm guessing.

Hey, do what you want. Whatever makes you happy. For me, it's having the pieces that were meant to go together, together.

IMO, in person, it looks bad not having matching appliqués.

The sharp pleat off the top with a round applique looks off.

Yeah, and it's more than just the pleat. From the pleat inward, the light pane is flat. The hoe/gmc appliqués curve inward the whole way. So, those aspects don't go well, either.

Cool let me know. Still haven't pulled the trigger on any tails yet! But I see what you guys are talking about now with the G5S.

No Lee I'm not selling the truck. Just want the original look back. Gonna get the denali tails smoked with some led bulbs put in them.

Little off topic but do Denalis come with black applique and spoiler not matching body color. Just walked around dealer during service and saw this. Exactly what I want to do is paint my appliques and spoiler black.
