What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So I drove 300 miles across Utah and back to go rescue my brother who blew a head gasket in his Saab. On my way there my transmission overheated, and I wasn't even towing anything! When I arrived there, I immediately did a transmission fluid change, man oh man was the fluid brown and burnt!
Towed the Saab back, but the transmission has been acting all weird now. High rpms when 'trying' to change gears, and not have success all the time.
Check the dtc codes, and sure enough I had the P1870 code for transmission slipping. Deciding what to do with that one now.

Dude that sucks. How did you know it overheated?

We saw tons of people overheating on the I-5 this weekend when temps hit 100+.

today i found out my hoe's check engine light comes off if i have low fuel really trying get rid of that light but cnt figure out the problem can sumbody help

Do you have a K&N filter on it because it comes on every now and then due to the MAF gets the K&N oil film on it. Whenever I clean my K&N and recharge it I go through a couple weeks of check engine light on and off because I have a code reader and it reads MAF and I just Clear it then its fine.

Your going to need a tranny rebuilt because more than likely the plates are shot and it will run you 3 to 4 thousand on a Denali. Tahoe or Yukon 3200. Sorry to hear the news it sucks when you have to dump a butt load into a vehicle. Were you keeping an eye on the fluid or how it was acting because if you caught it early enough they maybe could have just replaced the pressure plate but since its burnt you have metal on metal creating heat ruining parts. I found you a great buy on a transmission, its on ebay and it has 144 thousand on it but its only 599 and it would take a couple hundred to install. Its way better than 4 thousand. Plus this tranny with proper care could live the life of your vehicle. If you want more specifics let me know but the ebay number is 290928607286. This is the best deal yet. A perfect tranny for under $1000 plus its from a reputable seller not some joe out of the back of his garage. the Tranny has been gone through cleaned and everything you need. I hope you think about it because this will tough to find again when y9ou need one like you do. Take Care.

Did the oil change, changed out the coolant temp sensor that had messed up when I did my tune up and abs sensor. Fun day ready for tomorrow.

Finally got my liftgate opened! After almost a year of not being able to open it. The handle was broken due to foam making everything stuck.

Rolled in a parade and dumped 60 pounds of candy to little kids. Truck never hit 210 on the temp gauge and it was 100 degrees and I had the air on. Also was revving against the muscle cars. Got a couple thumbs up and a challenge against an old ford to chain up. He would have been embarrassed.

Light installation

I installed Halo lights on the front head lights that gives it the look of new Audi's plus I changed all of my door, interior lights and License plate lights Blue. I replaced the bottom light assembly below the head lights with a new black look head light. One thing that bothers me is that when do these lights ever turn on; It pisses me off I tried everything but the lights below the regular lights wont turn on for anything and its really making me wonder if I wasted my money on lights that aren't even used?? Can anyone help. Take Care

Not sure if you've been through this yet but- starting from center going out-
Drl- on when daylight and truck is out of park and e brake off
Signal/parking- on when you signal and/or have the running lights on or headlights on
Sidemarker/signal- same as signal/parking lights.
You usually don't see the drls because you're in the truck when they come on unless you pull up to a building with glass front and see the reflection. Also, check fuses and check plug with multimeter to make sure you're getting voltage at bulb.
