To now, Thank goodness for insurance and being able to tell them what to put on:

What still needs to be done. I guess the shop thought I was some avg. Joe and wouldn't notice these things. Long story short if you didn't know; Wheels stolen, the right tow truck didn't show, insurance told shop to deploy their tow guy with no wheels and tires, dude dragged the kon on the flat bed despite me telling him to stop, caused a lot of damage. They have ball joints on order and said they would attempt the repair. I am going to tell them just to replace the bumper because it's creased. They seem to think they can fix that :nono:

They seemed surprised when I pointed the stuff out which tells me that they thought I would overlook those things :flipthebird: It goes back in two weeks as I need it to haul some stuff around. They are expecting me and know that I am not playing.

Make sure they can't say since you took it out, that you somehow caused the damage and that they are not responsible. Ya know some shops can try and weasel out of stuff like that.. glad to see your ride making a come back. Looking good..

They won't. That was the first comment out of my mouth when I picked it up. If they do then there will be some legal issues with them. Plus I'm sure my insurance will do something about it. I missed it though. It took them a month. I had almost brand new tires on the 20's and it rode nice, but it seems that the ride quality is better with the 22's. I didn't expect that. Or it could be because I was driving my mr2 that rides rough because of suspension. Either way I'm happy with the new wheels. Out of it all, I got new wheels and tires, new brakes, a new rear diff seal according to them ( need to check on that too), new ball joints and probably a new bumper when all is said and done.

I could have gotten real upset but that wouldn't have solved anything. Either way I knew I was going to come out better than before. The bumper had a lot of chips in it. The brakes were fine, but new is better and new ball joints which I would have had to replace anyway. So now those are just things I don't have to worry about for awhile. Coming soon are video surveillance, drone mobile and gorilla guard wheel locks on all or at least most of the studs. Do you think it's necessary to activate onstar in case of another incident? I'm sure the wheel lock will help deter some thieves, but if they see that they might just haul it off. I'll put a back up battery for the alarm and onstar if I activate it.

what i dont understand is why not insurance buy you new tires and rims then drive it to where ever rather than tow it without wheels:?

I would NEVER let anybody drag any of my vehicles onto a tow truck without tires and

wheels. The tow truck driver should have known better with a $50,000+ vehicle.

Dam I would be livid. When my wife's was stolen and they turds dropped it on the ground on its rotors I went and got our old wheels So we could tow it to the shop. Wheel locks aren't that big a deal. My wife's had all wheel locks! It will slow them down a tad. Don't pay for onstar they can still track it for you! I would get a tilt sensor for the alarm tho if its a two way paging alarm!

It's a crappy situation overall, but the outcome is better than when I got it. I think the guy either had a speech impediment, or was deaf or something to that extent or maybe had a mental issue because the way he talked was not normal. All legitimate things, but still didn't listen to me. Either way, I paid what I needed to pay and the rest is between the shop and the tow company. If. They come back at me and say I need to pay more. Then they will ha legal issues with me with everything being on my side because of the situation. But like I said, it all comes out better. It rides so smooth. I can wait to get the new ball joints in the front and the front bumper. Then I'll give it a good detail to get rid of the swirls and it will look better than new. Thanks for all the replies. I believe the drone with drone mobile has just about everything I need. And I just found out about a possible move with a new job so that will put me in a better area, even though this could happen anywhere. Here's hoping.

I'm biased myself

I was wondering if you were going to post something. Your ride made the decision for me :D all the 916's I've seen are on lighter colored Yukons and Tahoes. I have only seen 1 black eski with them on and that was in my area.

ps - Watch craiglist in your surrounding area(s). You could very easily catch

the thieves yourself and report them to the police.

Every time you get a new set of wheels before you mount the tires you write with a sharpie in the rim.
Tire shop: if you are working on this rim and it is not off a black 08 Silverado they have been stolen call me at xxxxxxxx for a very generous reward.
