Ordered the Corsa off Jegs. The eBay deal looked great until I was going to be charged CA sales tax. Jegs says it will ship out Monday.

Any tips for when I install?

I did mine with jack stands and a floor jack. A little tight but can be done. I had to sawzall my factory exhaust to get it out. I also used penetrating oil/spray on the 2 flange bolts up front. I sprayed them each day for about 3-4 days. They broke free quite easily. It is a fairly easy install. Just before you tighten everything down-set the truck on the ground to make sure everything clears. I didn't do that and when I put her down the rear tailpipe section was hitting the back axel. I had to move each section of pipe about 1/4 inch to gain clearance. Also retorq clamps after it breaks in. Good luck.

Yeah, all of that!! lol

Also be prepared for a sore back and shoulders from crawling around on the floor and installing the system, and also a sore jaw from all the smiling you will be doing for days to come when ever your truck is on and you hear the beautiful exhaust breath!! lol

Sounds good. On the flange bolts, what did you spray them with, WD-40? Also, is it at all possible to get the stock exhaust out without cutting it? If not I can borrow my neighbors electric saw.

That would work or I used liquid wrench. I don't know how different the exhaust is on the 5.3 but with mine there was no way possible for it to come out in one piece. I believe even in the directions it said to cut the exhaust. And you could spray a little on the exhaust hangers to lube them up so the exhaust comes off/goes on easier...

And I smile every time I start it up or lay into it just a bit......pure sex ;)

Thanks for all the input. Last question before I install sometime this week. I was overlooking the directions online and it says to torque the clamps to 45 ft. lbs. The directions do not give a torque spec for the bolts that connect to the flange on the intermediate pipe. It just says to tighten them evenly to prevent an exhaust leak.

Any idea what the torque spec is?

No problem. I just did mine the old hand tight method and used my human torque setting ;) I just cranked them til I thought they were tight enough and then checked them down the road with the clamps. Good luck...

Exhaust still hasn't arrived. Called Corsa this morning. They said the exhaust I ordered is not a kit they keep in stock, rather they build them as people order. Mine won't be built until Dec. 10th, and then figure another 5 to 6 days to get from Ohio to Southern California.

Bummer. :(

That sux but it is just a few more days in the big picture.... it is hard to hold off your excitement which I can attest to-mine couldn't ship fast enough :D

Looking forward to hearing your impressions on the install--and of course--the sound ;)

The good ole waiting game. Bummer.

FYI, I had a local shop install mine for $80.

Lucky you! I want the exact same exhaust, but I have to save up some cash first. (More expensive to get it sent here to Norway. Taxes, shipping and stuff.)

Can you please upload a video (or even just sound), so I can hear how it sounds like when you have had it installed? :party36:

Sure will. Won't have it for a couple weeks.

I'll try and post pictures of the install and stuff when it does arrive!

Got the exhaust on tonight. Did it by myself. Pretty straight forward. Very happy with it.

Only thing, how do I make the gap between the exhaust tips and rear side quarter less? Do I need to have someone push up on the muffler while I tighten all the clamps? Right now there is about a 4 finger gap.

Took my Tahoe to the local muffler shop today to see if they could fix the gap issue. He discovered the hanger on the car (not the Corsa exhaust) was bent so he fixed it. Exhaust is all tucked up now. I also had him cut 3 inches off the end so the exhaust tips don't stick out too far. Looks great.

I'll have pics and video up when it stops raining and my Tahoe is clean. So by Sunday at the latest.

Did the install myself in the rain last night. Woke up this morning with a very stiff neck. I think I pulled a muscle in my neck. Also, I didn't support the stock muffler when I cut it out. Came crashing down about 2 inches from my head. Was a lot heavier than I originally thought. lol.

Going to 5,000 rpm last night on the main blvd. made it all worth it though. ;)

Honestly, can't believe how quiet it is inside the cab with the windows up. Sounds stock inside.

Exactly why I had a shop do mine. I would have broke my head or something else trying to install it

Amen on the sound. Over a year later and I still smile when I hear the exhaust note.

Glad you got it all finished!
