2012 escalade premium exhaust question

and after actually watching the video I really don't like the look of those tips against the bumper dual cut-outs. Doesn't look clean like the factory style does, reminds of trying to put the square peg in the round hole in those kid learning toys lol just my .02

In complete honesty there is no way to keep the OEM look of the 2012+ dual exhaust rear bumper and still retain the spare tire. If that is a deal breaker than there isn't a factory option available for you

well, there is, but it involves a lot of body work... someone on the caddy site cut the whole off a reg esky bumper and molded it to his.

^^^ wow, that's crazy! Well I stand corrected, that is labor intensive but I guess it's capable......but you would still have the issue of the heat being on the tire and all the associated risk with that

I agree. The fire risk is way too risky for me. I'd rather just go without a spare tire.

it's gets in to a heated discussion about the tire getting hot. some people say it's ok, some say it's not. I personally wouldn't trust it

yeah nothing would be worse than having a flat, changing it on the side of the road and then only to have it blowout on you a few miles later due to heat damage or deformity

everyone who has done the rear platinum rear bumper install..do you feel the bumper is a little flimsy????? Just got my bumper put on my 07' Esky Wed., 24'' Esky wheels yesterday, was suppose to lower the rear today, but the wifey just had to run errands today...smh!!!!!! I work all weekend, so I'll try to lower it mon or Tues.

flimsy in what fashion? thickness of bumper material or flimsy once mounted? If flimsy once mounted, did you relocate the bottom 2 metal bumper brackets for the new bumper?

$125 a year AAA with 500mile towing.. spares are over rated..

Lets be honest here, who wants to lower the spare (assuming the lock isn't seized, like mine has been), jack up a nearly 3 ton SUV, take off a heavy tire, put a spare on, raise the flat tire back up under the truck, lower the jack, put all that crap away, just to have to drive to the nearest dealer to get the tire fixed... then you have the wear and tear on your spare, most likely needing to get replaced after that.

Could not agree more. I'm not about to lay in the road and start messing with a shameful spare tire mount design that GM put there just to say they put it there.
