BUT, I would not consider any Officer of the Law trespassing, regardless of the situation. They are a marked item, meaning they wear a uniform to inform EVERYONE who they are never mind there great big Police car, marked or unmarked. If they are on your property, its more than likely for a reason. Saying you would shoot an officer is absolutely rediculous, warning or not. The only way that will end, especially now-a-days is in a coffin and yes I mean you, not the officer.

THIS

While I dont necessarily agree with this type of citation, every state has its own laws.

True if they are there they aint there to pickup a car worth under$2000 lol but what i was meaning is if it was a cop and you dont know it? If its an unmarked cop they will tell you they are cops its not like a criminal will be like ey yo! Dont shoot im a cop heres my badge o wait.... I think i left it in my car

So with absolute uncertainty in the above situation, you'd find it justified to shoot to kill? I'm sorry Gz, you seemed like a good guy, but I have a feeling we are all gonna be reading about you one day. :(

I missed what state ur in but a mis sounds really severe for a violatio re a unregistered non running vehicle.

I can only talk to you from the angle of PA proceedings....but if its A mis....talk to an atty.

In my twp where i work we have it as a twp ordinance (fines only) and its in the Pa Veh codes as a subsection of abandoned vehicles . But even that is a summary offense.

What I have learned is many States do not have summary offenses and misdemeanors are not as serious as here in PA.

Can u tell me what state u are in.... and exactly what section of what rules u were issued...

Feel free to email me the info or a copy of tge citation to my email.

[email protected]

Ill try to do some research so I dont freak u out because of dif rules in dif states...

Maybe it isn't a misdemeanor, on the back it says, misdemeanor read carefully,
If U look to the left you will see where I live.

On the top it says, State Of Michigan Uniform Law Citation, down further it says, The Person Named Above Is In Violation Of, then there is a box checked that says, Local ordinance, further down it says Type under that are some check boxes, the box checked there says MISD. beside that it says , ordinance,32D.303.8, beside that it says,Description-VEHICLE-UNLICENCED/INOPERABLE ON PROPERTY

The cop said if I didn't have the vehicle ready within the 40 day period I could go to court and ask for more time but I am just going to take it to another location until I can put plates on it.
The cop said I could repair it and put plates on it, or remove it, or put it inside

Didnt read the entire thing, but I did get one once... I had just transferred my plates from my Corsica to my Cavalier (this was a few years ago) and I parked the Corsica in the grass next to the driveway. They cited me a little while later. I was in town but the way they are probably looking at it is it could be leaking oil, antifreeze, or any fluids into the ground and contaminating the water and stuff...

Not sure where your car was parked but there may be an ordinance that states the vehicle has to be parked on a paved driveway...

in my town the ordinance says that every house must have a paved driveway... they prefer blacktop but it can be cement... the gravel driveways in town are grandfathered in, but should they want to redo it, no gravel they have to pave it

Truck was parked on my paved driveway and was not leaking anything, just the front was smashed and not visible, but is now fixed and, as of today has been removed from my property.

Hopefully they will drop or reduce charge since you corrected tge problem. Just remember, be overly polite.... if u see the cop before tge hearing... throw an appology for inconveniencing him...followed by thankin him for teaching u that u couldnt do that, and let him know how u corrected the issue immediatly...... i know i may get flamed here.... but most cops....hell most people in general love to have their egos stroked..

never ADMIT to doing wrong...always say how u learned from the incident....

Hope u get out of it man...

At the risk of sounding sexist AGAIN...he ^^^ is right. Majority of the female cops I know.... push twice as hard to prove they are "equal."

The officers other duties are ,Sargent ,shift supervisor, I don't know if he will be there,he seemed like an ok guy and , I never gave him a hard time or anything.
I treated him with the same respect as I treat anyone ,well maybe more cuz he is a cop and I don,t want any more trouble.
