my wife asked at dinner last night.. while looking at the little kid in the carrier on the next table and then the itty bitty girl climbing on the table towards the mexican ship basket.. couldn't be much older than 1.. " so is next year the year?" all of our friends are having them left and right.. we were the first to get hitch and they all followed yet we have no kids yet.. i want them but i love our pack up and roll life style.. guess ill have to do like my parents and travel the kids all the time..

Im diging the RECARO may have to look into one of those..

all 3 are in different stages... different seats... nothin special...

This is almost exactly what the Burb looks like too but with boys instead  We have the same seats as you that are in the middle row. Looks like the boost in the 3rd row is more girlie so we don't have that one but his is brown. :) Our middle boy turns 3 this weekend and I think he's moving up to a booster here soon, too, so it'll change.

Thought I'd chime in since both my wife and I are certified to install car seats and have some decent knowledge of quality, safety and lack thereof. For the money, the absolute best car seat out there is the Diono Radian series. They used to be call Sunshine Kids but recently changed their name. They are low profile (I gave my parents the Recaro we had because it was so tall and I kept bumping my daughter's head on the ceiling), fold up for travel and have a carrying strap, are super easy to install, but most importantly they are hard-core safe. If you're shopping for car seats, check out the clips on the LATCH system...they are three times as thick as most brands. Also, Diono is the only company I'm aware of that will provide you with their crash test results, and video to back it up. Try getting that from Recaro. Guys this is really important stuff for me, and should be for everyone that has kids. I'm not saying other seats aren't safe, but if you're looking for the best mid-range car seat, Diono can't be beat. As a friend of mine put it, "good enough" isn't good enough for our kid's safety. After all, what's the worst that could happen?

Side note: great thread topic. Also for those with infants/toddlers, NHTSA recommends keeping them rear-facing until two years now. Check out youtube videos and you'll see why.

MINUS the screaming and sleepless night..

Since our youngest was born (March), the wifey and the baby have slept in the guest bedroom. I get ***** in our bed, then she leaves. I've had the best nights sleep ever in the last 3 months...

Those sleepless nights are dependent on the kid. I have one boy. He just turned 2 back on 6/1. He has been great. Not much of a crier and loves to sleep all night. He's been that way since day one. I heard all the horror stories too. Fortunately, none have happened for me.

As for the truck, I'll have to get a pic. I will say that there is a reason why I bought a Tahoe with a bench seat in the middle. It has everything to do with moving front seats forward to put a child seat behind them.

Also, new rules say the child should be rear-facing until age 2 now. Your kids doctor can confirm this. That came out about 18 months ago.

read and heard the same about rear facing till 2 from a few of our friends.. I too have a bench middle.. and it was a SMALL thought in my head when i was purchasing the tahoe 3 years ago..

as for sleepless nights. i sleep like a rock.. can sleep thru the fire alarm going off.. out cold.. mom said i was sleeping thru the night at 3 weeks old and i was a solid 6 hours sleep from then on. dad was the same.. so im hoping ming sleep the same..
