New Z71!

Thanks to you guys for your help in me picking a new Tahoe the last couple days. Finally purchased this beast yesterday. What a difference from my OBS.

First things first, I wanna lift the body or level it. The general consensus is a kit from ebay, but which one? theres 1100 to choose from in just 2002? I only want a 2 inch body lift. Can someone set me up with a link from ebay and fell free to post pics if you got em, of yours with a lift. Thanks again.

Looks great man. Congrats on the new ride. Looks like they added the billet grille and the clear corners on the front end too. When I had my 01 z71 those were the first two mods I did.

I saw that too. Looks like a dent or 2 in the middle of the bumper so I'm guessing that's the cause.

I'll take a closer look later. I'm headed to my dads to check spark plugs wires things like that, that may need to be replaced.

I checked the fittings and they are correct. Is this the factory grill? Maybe it's after market and it's a little bowed? I checked where the lower bumper and it meet and the bumper isn't pushing it up at all.

If you want the Tahoe to sit level, purchase some keyway keys and it will lift the front end up around 2" to get the truck level. A body lift will not correct the front end sag, that's all suspension. I did 2" lift keys and 1.5" spacers in the rear on 34's with 18" rims and loved it. Your Z71 is sweet looking and looking forwards to seeing the mods

It took me about 45 min to install mine then went for an alignment. Here is a pic with just keys up front on stock 265's:

Keys, 1.5" spacer and 285's

Keys and spacers on 34x13.50r18 (Some trimming required)

The set with just the ford keys looks good. I just wanna fix the sag. I won't go higher bc I have a 42lb, 3 year old boy I have to lift as high as I raise my truck. So how easy is that?

I'm 35.5" in the front and 38" in the back. Let's do this. Did you crank the front after the install? Or is that what you're supposed to do?

So is this level with the spacers and the keys? Because it sounds like you're telling me, "keys only" are all I need to level it's out? I'm running 275's right now.

When I had my 01 z71 tahoe my friend was driving it and bumped into another car in the driveway while backing out and I had an identical gap... definitely looks like someone might've done something similar there.

that is not the factory grille. It is an overlay that sits directly on top of the original. Takes about 5 minutes to put on/take off. I had the same exact one actually.

I have this much bolt on both sides. Which is good I assume for cranking? So when I install these keys, do I automatically get more lift? Or will I still crank?

Maybe that's why this grill doesn't fit. Because the old one IS NOT behind it. I may be new to the NBS Tahoe, but I'm not new to making something fit and putting things together to look right. The whole time I was looking at this grill this morning and taking it off and on, I noticed it seemed too big. Meaning I almost need to shim it to help. It sags I think bc there's nothing behind it to hold it up.
