Torsion Bars

Will the bars out of a 2500 Silverado or Burb fit? If I remember right they do, just want to check. Also, anyone know off the top of their head the cost of the bars? And final question, will F150 keys work on those bars as well? I assume they will, or should I get differently indexed chevy ones?

Not looking to lift, just need new bars, and figure I can have the new keys in there anyways if the mood strikes me.

what do the f150 keys do for tahoes? they lift or lower it?

I would guess the 3/4 ton (2500) bars are gonna rode stiffer than the 1/2 ton bars. I dont see why they wouldn't fit though.

i believe they will fit, but they are a heavier bar so with the same adjustment they are loaded heavier = stiffer ride

Lift, they are indexed differently.

Stiff is fine. If there's one thing I can't stand it's mushy.

they should fit. Worst case they are a bit longer and you moe the support back a few inches

HD bars are longer by like 2 inches (actually i think the tahoe is the only one with a shorter bar its like 72 inches and i think the standard is 74)...so you would have to move the rear support.. I looked into doing this for a stiffer front end (one that would work well with a plow on it). I gave up after I noticed the bars are longer and i didn't feel like moving the rear support.

Did you ever find a stiffer bar that is the proper length? Shop is going to be doing the work, so if they don't mind moving the support and don't want to charge me a load to do it, then that's fine.
