So I figured I would just throw both of these in the same post. I got my 8000k HIDs from DDM tuning installed. It was my first time ever even seeing a HID kit let alone installing one, but it was actually easy. I wasted my money buying the $4 mounting brackets. Im not sure how long they are going to last. I need to get to the store and buy some good double sided tape for the fog lights. I think the low beams will be just fine. The LEDs that I got I bot on eBay and came from China. They were right around the $15 range shipped. They did take 2 weeks on the dot to get, but man I love them.

They look good but I know those won't last very long at all if you did not install them with a relay.

The hids or the LEDs? I was told I didn't need the relay for the hids. That the kit would be all I needed.

You do not NEED it to work... but without the relay, they will not last long...

2 months I went without the relay, and without running the DRLs... so they were only in use when it was dark... new set with the relay has been problem free for about 10 months now?? Give or take?

I ended up just doing LEDs in fog lights. Looks great, cheap, and I use my fog light switch to turn my amp/sub on and off, so I use the fogs alot. I just figured LEDs would be more reliable/simple.

So will one relay run my lo's and fogs, or do I need to get two relays?

Which Ebay user did you order the interior bulbs from? Link would be helpful.

Thanks!

You will need two. You can splice them together going to the battery, so that you do not have two wires coming direct from the battery, but two relays, one for each "input" is necessary.

I've never used a relay before and everything seems to be OK. What goes out if you don't use a relay? The bulb or the ballast?

I just bought the slimline kit from DDM and the relay was part of my kit. Fires up every time unlike the other POS set I had.

FWIW i have the relay in our yukon XL only because the first set we tried had a flicker in them and i wanted to rule out a voltage issue. Relay just stayed in place when I got the other brand HID. no issues at all. but I have the same exact brand of kit in my tundra for over a year and half w/o the relay, my dad's 06 silverado w/o relay and my mom's 2011 sorento w/o relay...the last two have only been in since christmas but no issues so far, nor do i anticipate any...
