Got a question and not sure where to ask, so i figured maybe you guys could help me. A good friend of mine has a 99 2dr Tahoe w/ a brand new GM trans, pretty clean straight body inside and out, 4x4, leather, otherwise all stock with about 170k miles.

He was offered $2k for it. Didnt sell it.

How much is a 99 2dr tahoe LT 4x4 w/ 170k miles worth? He wants me to try to sell it for him. But i know nothing about OBS tahoes.

(if wrong section, please delete or move)

thanks

Mike

around here you'd get $4000+ out of it if its a good solid truck.

paid $5100 for mine with 165K on it and it is/was an Z71 LS

Yeah its a good truck, its a mechanics. So its been taken care of and its pretty clean outside and in. He knew i was on a tahoe forum, so wanted me to find out what it was worth, b/c he knew it was more than 2k.

Thanks man,

Up here it'd be a $3500 tahoe but it'd also have some rust on it up here most likely. Down there being rust free you could probably add $1k to it

$10k in 50 years will be equal to $1k today...

Man, trying to sell my 96 with 124K on it which is really low miles to me for $4500.00. It doesnt have leather but is 4X4, pretty much power everything and cant get any bites on it. I thought it would fly out of my driveway for that price. Good luck with your sale man.

hum.. well im not sure yet. When i see him monday im going to snap some pics and look it over and maybe you guys can tell me what you think its worth. He sent it to a auction wed, and it brought $3000 i think, but he said nope. And auctions are less than public sale. That kind of why im thinking $4500 or so. Dont know..

From seeing these things priced, I would say $4500.00 would be good but only because ofthe miles. If it had about 50K less miles, I would say $6500.

Another issue is the age. It's hard for most to get a loan on a vehicle of that age and then you have to find the right person with cash in hand.

Really 6500, wow. Well, new has new gm trans. lol. For the miles, i really went off what i remembered him saying, but i do think it was 170k or so.

I knew that, but didnt really think of this until you just said it. That is very true, especially for right now. I know he got offered $5k by someone he knows, but i dont know when that was.. Guess he should of taken that.
