So... the question: What should be done to my yukon?

what ive done so far...
intake manifold gaskets. tires. exhaust. intake. stereo system. lights. oil cooler leak. i have stuff i want to do. but insufficient funds has ceased my fun... :emotions122: just wondering what ideas everyone has for me and anyone else that reads this forum. (i dont want to debadge. haha. i dont want debadge because im kinda afraid it will show the lighter paint color under the badges) o and for my birthday in march my parents are getting my dings and stuff fixed.

so what do you guys have on your minds?

Thanks,
Nick

are you looking to do "free mods" or what? Honestly you really cant mod something unless you have the money to buy the parts.. if your rents are going to be paying for the dings, you should really just try to take of the badges. Just go slow, on a hot day with a hairdryer or whatever everyone uses and try for your self. you screw up, oh well it goes in the shop the next week anyways..

well if your in the gas saving mood: electric fans, headers, a solid tuneup, good ignition components and such will get you some more ponies and mpgs

Well what to YOU want to do to it? slam it and street rod it? leave it stock? or lift it and make a good offroad truck?

Any of those directions require an entirely different set of mods. Let us know. To give you ideas for the offroad direction, I'm going to swap in a 14bsf rear axle with a locker, lift it 3", front bumper with a winch, rear tire carrier bumper, roof rack with a roof-top tent, onboard air with air chucks front and rear, rhino-lined cargo area with a ham radio where the jack goes, and integrated gps on the dash.

Just a few ideas ;)

Yea i want to lift it. im a "country boy" and im not really into the slammed and bagged hoes. haha! the only problem that has kept me from getting a lift right now is my new tires. there 265/75/16 falken rocky mountain. im just kinda weirded out with the lift with midget tires. i guess i could sell them... there brand new! got like less then 4000 miles on them. i dont want it sky high. i like the look of procomps tahoe. but i dont want it that high. im thinking about going with a 3 inch lift. just dont know yet. but i do love my truck. im up for any mods really. just wanting ideas. im thinking about redoing my interior with nbs seats and consoles with new carpet.

I find that totally shameful. But to help ease your conscious, I will gladly take that 454 SS off your hands just so that you can sleep better and feel green about it...

Back on topic, I like the lifted look (hence, why it was one of the first things I did). I picked up carpet for the 'hoe, and (hopefully) will install it and a roll of fatmat once spring hits. Just picture your dream truck, make a list of what you want to do to it, then prioritize what you want to do. It all takes money so unless you've got a big budget for it and/or are really good mechanically, it'll take some time. You can always push the lift/tire upgrade for last, and do the interior mods first.

if your going to lift it i would still recommend getting the 6" lift and not cranking the front and leaving the blocks out of the rear. then when you want it higher (and it seems 99% of ones that go with the 3-4 lift wish they went with the 6) you can crank the T-bars and add the rear blocks and u-bolts.

6" RCX lift can be had for about a grand procomp and DC lifts run a little more. they are the most popular lifts of users on this forum from what i have seen.

i have the 6" procomp lift on mine with 35's.

i work at a local pizza shop about 20 hours a week... i bring about 250 home every 2 weeks. im in college and school is a big priority so i just try and save my money. then i go drop it on something that i really want and that i have researched and everything. I want a lift... i do want a 6 inch lift and just leave uncranked and everything. if i leave it uncranked in the front it will be at 4" and i put the AAL in the back it will raise it up 4" also? correct me if im wrong. im just a new guy with this stuff. im more advanced in the engine side of things. the motor in the drag car in my albums was built by me and its rebuilt after every race session in about 2 hours... im pretty much "dumb" when it comes to suspension tires and gears... thats why i have you guys! haha
