made it back to FL this morning. Good lord it's hot down here. Was so nice up in NC.

Anywho.. while we were away, we got a "ballpark" from the builder to do our home. Wife and I had some discussions over the week while floating in the lake and I think we might shrink the house down a bit and start building in 2027 so its done when I retire at the end of 2028. We are more than likely going to have some conversations this week between the builder and architect and come up with a game plan. By shrinking it down a little, it will allow us to keep both homes in FL and NC and half-back it until we get situated with her job and the kids in college/life before making the permanent relocation.

It was promoted as "Black Boat Weekend." I was up that way for it last year, we rode by the area of the lake they had it at, wasn't outlandishly crazy. I'm sure just like any event, they beefed up police presence with zero tolerance. Most of the problems were at the boat ramps. And from what I gather, they left a lot of debris on the island and boat launch areas. But, with all good people, there's always going to be some bad eggs.

We left on Friday the day before this event. It doesn't really bother me, the lake is so massive you dont really even know what's going on at the other end.

Does this mean you have to reuse the hose clamps from the old water system for the new water system?
