Greetings-
Like many, I want more USB ports / power ports available to me in the front row. I'm making progress, but hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
Short version- It's easy to the back of the sliding console, under the sliding console cupholders and behind the rear climate controls. The hard part seems to be following the wiring harness under the bottom drawer that appears to run up under the cupholder (correct me if you know better). If I can follow the wiring harness forward with enough slack for the sliding console to the passenger footwell, it should be easy to add a dedicated wire for console mounted USB ports.
The longer version:

This is a surface mounted USB port module with 2 USB C ports and a 1 USB A. The vendor sells a number of different products, and I've seen several that are likely to work. Any of the above need power. That leads me to one of two options:
1) find a 12v source in the back of the console
2) run a wire to one of the fuse panels
I lean towards option 2 because I don't love the idea of messing with the factory wiring harness. If there's a good source of 12v power back there, let's talk about it.
Assuming we need to run a wire, I started figuring out how to do it. The wire runs under the bottom drawer of the sliding console. I can't figure out how the factory manages the wire to keep it from binding when the sliding console moves. I'm not finding much in the way of resources online. Anyone have any photos? Youtube videos that show disassembly?
As an additional resource, I also mounted 2 12v power ports in the passenger footwell. I haven't powered these up yet, but the power wire is run over to the fuse box by the passenger door, and there's a grounding point at the base of the A pillar behind the trim piece. Hoping to figure out wiring to the sliding console then connect it all at the same time. Easy to add a 12v USB port into one of these for the passenger.
