What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Moved the dusty '04 WRX to my house so we have access to it for the engine work. Tahoe sagged for a few blocks until the Nivomat shocks raised it back up. Hosed off the WRX before backing it into my garage, and now the Hoe will sit out in the weather.

Being outdoors 24/7 really takes a toll. Wish I had a garage--well I do but it's filled with "stuff". You know how that goes.

Cleaned up the ole beater Denali to get it ready for some new wheels and tires tomorrow, gonna be interesting to see how it looks with 18s and AT tires,

'06 *edit* '04. (WTF lol) 8.1 Yukon XL. I noticed that fuel mileage is very sensitive to air temperature; ~14 @ 70F, 11 @ 105F. I also installed a heavy duty fan clutch, which made things worse as it nearly always engaged if standing in traffic at any temperature. (I'm in S. Fla so never cold and A/C always on) I installed a 185* thermostat, now the fan doesn't run off of every stop light and sign. Stock shows 195*, fwiw. I'll be glad to find if there's any extra mpg from the lower temp too. After I get the pinion bearings changed, meh

temps here dropped a lot today, got out of work super early, so the hoe got its self a oil change. really wish the oil filter location was easier to get a damn filter off. its so tight up there it pisses me off. i got them filter pliers, had 3 holes in the filter before it broke free.

catch can once again, 1/3 full and doing its job.

I didn't keep track but if I had to ballpark I would say ~$1000. Still cheaper than a new truck. I had a lot of miscellaneous supplies for this job. 6 cans of engine cleaner, 6 cans of brake cleaner, gallon of brake fluid, gallon of trans fluid, RTV, PBblaser, Dorman fuel tank strap bolts and J nuts, bought a few new tools to make my life easier. Top Don scanner for the ABS bleed.

You're justifying to the wrong person, here. I was asking so I could build a budget for myself. You have my respect, sir!

Sounds like you might want to lean it out a little bit.

Thanks, it definitely looks better in the pics than in person as far as the paint and all the dings lol

The bull bar is a cheapo from Amazon but it fits well and has been pretty sturdy, had it about 2 1/2 year so far: https://a.co/d/0ZqIroI

I removed the center piece with the logo on it bc the cheap paint started flaking off a few months ago just haven’t gotten around to repainting it.

im yet to see one, but know what your talking about. ive got them cap wrenches too that fit to the bottom, they dont fit right and just spin when removing. they install ok tho, cause lets face it, your not getting a hand around on to turn it in and snug it up.

I use this thing, but it fits in and turns partially. I use it to break the old one loose and snug the new one a bit more than I can with my fingers. I wouldn't say it's a great solution but it works enough.

That nut didn't work for me, it just rounded off (stripped) when trying to get it off.

I stated using WIX Racing Filters. Being a couple inches longer there is more to grab.
