You know it won't work. Hide the shovel, no point in making the hole deeper/bigger...I’m going to try that one on my wife![]()
Wow $53.75 for an air filterApr 11, 2025 - Southern Oregon - 2021 Yukon / 6.2L - mainstream auto shop....
$96.96 - Oil Change (0W-20 SYN * 8 quarts)
$53.75 - Air Filter
$80.00 - 4 x Tire Balance
Well, you gotta figure in labor. Likely $180 an hour. Even at .1, that is $18 labor.Wow $53.75 for an air filter
We dont charge labor to install an air filter. You buy our GM filter and we install it for free. And our labor rate is $129 an hourWell, you gotta figure in labor. Likely $180 an hour. Even at .1, that is $18 labor.
Then that means at $53.75, some of that is for a labor offset. OR....the price is all labor because you likely have a non flat rate guy doing oil changes that is not paid the same as a flat rate tech.We dont charge labor to install an air filter. Yup, I was replying to the other guy...that’s what I did
We charge $42.95 and that's why I have 3 oil techs that are paid hourly and stay booked out 2-3 days cause I am much cheaper on oil changes or any work performed with the 3 other Chevy dealerships within 30 minutes of me
Did dealer put 0w-40 in engine at replacement. My recall motor replacement is done, and it is motor #3 for me with only 46K miles. 0W40 oil in it. Install was perfect, but the motor itself doesn't sound very good.
I put a remote mic on the oil dipstick for good audio. How's it sound to you all? I don't know what "normal" is anymore for GM.

VIN is on the recall list and I made appointment with my dealer. I posted before about this. Dealer wasn’t ready and I just got regular oil change.I hadn’t gotten my letter yet and made an appointment with my dealer for the recall
They completed the inspection & oil change and my letter arrived 3 days later
If your vin is on the list the dealers have access to the entire list
Here in Florida it’s $112 for 0-20W mobile 1 synthetic and tire rotation for the 6.2lOuch!
$150 for an oil change?
Where I live, I can get an 0-20w oil change AND tire rotation for $100.
For those that had their pico test done and passed, do you get any documentation of the values of your test and see where you are in the pass/fail range. "Barely passed" vs "no signs of defect". I would feel much better if I knew I wasn't right on the edge of passing....
I agree with you, I would be interested to see the results in detail - but I think realistically, all most of us will see is a pass/fail. Maybe someone who has a really good relationship with their service department could get some more detailed documentation, but I don't think they necessarily have any obligation to provide it under the recall, even if you ask for it.For those that had their pico test done and passed, do you get any documentation of the values of your test and see where you are in the pass/fail range.
