My wife and I purchased a 2024 Yukon XL AT4 in Nov, 2024. This forum was greatly helpful in deciding wheel specs to achieve the desired look we wanted. We installed AT4W 35x11.5 tires on Fuel 20x9 20mm offset wheels. This truck is an air ride model so we purchased links from www.edgymods.com. Once the tires and wheels, along with the links, were installed we had rubbing on the front and back sides of the wheel liners. The Wescott Designs liner brackets were installed which took care of the back sides of the wheel liners. The front of the liners were addressed yesterday. Here's a photo with the liner removed on our truck:

We needed to create some tire clearance but did not want to trim the liner, we want to keep it looking as factory as possible. Here's the structure roughly trimmed up:

This was cleaned up but allowed the liner to still be secured from the bottom without trimming. I don't think anyone would ever see the difference now that it's finished:

This gave us enough clearance for the tire to fully turn both directions without rubbing and allowed room for suspension travel.

I did mine similarly in the wheel well, but I need to revisit it again because it continually rubs for some reason. I used zip ties on the fender liner, but the stress of driving, vibrations, and turns is causing some variations of how the liner is sitting inside the fender well. I think what I need to do is remove the front wheels and just spend a few hours to cut deeply into the bumper and possibly the rear wheel well to fix the problem once and for all. Mind you, I switched from 33's to 35's, so that's where the problem started. I had zero turning issues with my 33's, and didn't have to modify the fenders or bumper any further than what it was a the time. The smoothness of the ride was okay, but the ride quality is even better with my 35's. Plus visually, the 35's fill up the wheel wells and give it a beefier stance.

Zero issues with 33’s with or without a lift? I want to go 33x12.5 on a plus 18 but don’t want to lift it.

I've had zero issues with 33's. In fact, it's about time that I swap out my current tires, so I'll be going back down to 33's in the next few weeks.

You have a lift though don't you?
3 inch Ready Lift... I didn't want to go too tall, because I still wanted the option to go into most parking structures. As it currently stands, my AT4 is at 6'6". Tall enough to get in without a hassle, yet low enough to step down without being too strenuous on the knees.

Yeah that's my main concern, I really want to do a 3" lift and some trimming and see if I can fit 37s but I don't want to scrape when I pull into parking structures and my favorite car wash.

My original setup was 33x12.50 for two rounds of tires. Then my 3rd and current round is 35x12.50 and it rubs like crazy - even with a lot of trimming. I had zero issues and a full turning radius with my 33's, so I've decided to go back down. This time around, I bought 33x14.50. I don't think it's been ever done before on a Yukon, but I'm prepared to do more trimming and possibly remove some of the felt fender liner in certain areas if need be. I trimmed the front wheel wells even more after I switched to the 35's, so I might be okay. I just need to invest in a 3 ton jack so I can remove my wheels whenever the situation calls for it. This time around I decided on a different brand of tire, so I hope it's not as loud as the RBP's. I'll have them installed this weekend.

Damn those tires are spent!
Yeah, I know. Been spending a lot of time researching the right tire, instead of using the same brand 4 times in a row. The Atturo Trail Blades I originally bought with the rims (online package deal @ RimzOne.com) weren't the right size, but it didn't stop them from selling them to me without checking the tire stats first. So basically, I was stuck with them and had to buy a new set of tires (those "spent" RBP's). I sold the Atturo's on Tuesday, and decided on these aggressive-looking Hercules TIS tires. They're the correct size with zero stretch, and not as tall as those RBP's (when they're not as bald). I'll install them over the weekend.

These new tires are pretty wide, so I'm hoping I won't have to cut into the bumper any more than I already have. If so, I've accepted it. I know it'd be a lot easier to lift it more for clearance, but I'd rather not. I don't like the inconvenience of having to find outside parking instead of a parking structure.

37's really might be stretching it... no pun intended. If you went with a narrow rim, like a 9" wide, you might be able to pull it off. But, that also depends on your tire width too.

It's kind of ironic though... You're worried about the height, and here I am, worried about the width. Too funny.

You can't get any more aggressive than this. These tires are beastly. I was afraid they'd poke too much, but then i had to remind myself that they're flush with the rim and doesn't exceed it... overall, I'm happy with the results. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but to each their own.

Tonight I decided to clean up the lower fender in front and behind the tire from when I originally trimmed the metal. I used some tape and a marker as a guide and outlined where I wanted to cut. I originally used metal scissors the first time around, but I wasn't as patient nor did I plan it out. This time around, I was thoroughly impressed with the outcome. the front was a little trickier because of the thick urethane bumper, and trying to make it look clean. The Dremmel helped with the metal behind the tire, but it was a little difficult to cut with the wheel in the way. Now, the cuts look more natural and contour to the shape of the wheel well.

Subtle, but effective. All i need to do now is sand it down and paint the edges.... and do the other side.

Yeah I've been looking at 17x8 and 17x9 wheels, I need more ground clearance. I've hit my side steps far too many times cresting a hilltop or crawling over the rocks. I also need some more/better skid plates for the same reason.
