Think my rear shocks are out. Lots of bounce when im towing anything. Probably original. So i believe these are the self levelling . Reading a lot about replacing springs and etc.. ac delco has a replacement shock thats not oem. Is that a viable option? What about coil spring shocks? Would they compensate for the weaker oem springs?

Any ideas???

if they are the nivomat there is no "viable" replacement unless you also replaced the springs with stiffer ones and some bilsteins that's about the best you will get.
you could add some helper bags for when towing and some hellwig sway bars will help with sway.
otherwise hunt down some nivomats, they are a bit pricey

If your suspension has no fanciness, my recommendations are as follows:
Bilstein 4600 if you avoid excessive gratuitous swerving.
Bilstein 5100 if you enjoy excessive gratuitous swerving.

I turned it for you.

For your 2002:
G65 = Nivomat self-leveling manual shocks (if they've never been replaced)
ZW7 = Premium Smooth Ride (PSR) which means that the rear springs are softer to match up with the Nivomat shocks

If you replace the OE rear shocks you should also replace the springs. Rock Auto has recommendations, but you could use a Z71 or non-PSR spring

If..... You have Nivomat ( Sachs) self-adjusting shocks... Contact John at " Truckee Surplus" ( 775) 225-9437... He has good quality used Nivomat shocks for less than, 1/2 the price. ( I mistakenly ordered a set.. they were like brand new )
Your RPO codes will show you what you should have... Beware... there are 3 different factory versions of your rear set up.
So your codes are important !

Yukon #2 codes.think its the same novomat setup. Trukee surplus shocks come off 04-06 vehicles. They may look new, but i think theyre still 18-20 year old shocks. Am i wrong?

He has a relationship with salvage yards...... The Nivomats I got were from a Yukon, that replaced them with new ones. They were not old.

I don't see the codes....

You would be correct unless they were a later replacement; but chronologically they are likely old.
