Well I’d better get my radio fixed then. I’m in smaller town. We have a sound place but I don’t think they do oem radios. Be nice to to get it fixed locally.
I am sorry, but I never understand when anyone "assumes". ASK the sound place to see if they in fact can fix what you have or can recommend a business, but never assume.

If you did call them before your 3:45 am post, then say you called them.

I am not bringing any help to this thread it seems. Sorry, but I am out.

I do feel bad for what has happened with the rain causing problems but I just can't follow the thread in chronological order when I am getting bits and pieces of info. I truly do hope it all works out in the end. Good luck.

I’m not sure what you mean. You asked if I had called them. I called them yesterday?

Nothing is just going to magically fix the radio, other than either getting the factory one replaced, or jumping through 1000 hoops to go after market and I really don’t wanna do that but thanks for your help.

@OR VietVet - You've been more of a help than you probably know - to countless folks on here based on what I have seen/read of your posts, as have numerous others that have also been trying to assist the OP...Too bad everyone has been trying to help someone that just wants to take and give nothing back.

I echo the sentiments.

@iboughtatahoe23 - good luck w/that thing in all respects - lol, you going to need it.
As far as your radio is concerned - stop worrying about it as it's meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

I mean it can kill my battery and no one likes running out to the car to pull there’s fuse before they go to bed.

What is the process to unlock a radio or to repgram it if I buy an oem one. I know a tone of people who are willing to send me a radio from a bunch of Tahoes, 09s, 10s and a few 2013 owners have contacted me. Does it matter which unit!m? Or will it fit. And most importantly is it expensive for the dealer to reprogram it to my ride?

If you can find one from a vehicle that is the same year with the same options, that is best. If you don't have Rear Entertainment, (DVD screens in 2nd row) that will make it easier still.

As for reprogramming it, I would call a couple dealers and let them know that you are wanting to swap out a radio and what would it cost to flash it to your vehicle.

I got rear entertainment. Does that mean I should go for a 2014 year radio?

Left my sunroof open last night and it poured. My airbag light is on, abs light is on, service 4x4 is on, the dash keeps coming on and then will shut off. Like all the gauges. There’s water in the center console cover. I can’t play music on my radio any more. I just financed this and have 5 years left on the loan. I’m not sure what to do. Pretty sure it is ruined.
I've been told that leaving a bowl of uncooked white rice in the car for several days with the windows closed may absorb the excess moisture. Maybe buy desiccant. Or, you could run an extension cord out and leave a dehumidifier running in the vehicle. Perhaps, leave the windows down for a few sunny days. Maybe a blow dryer, not too close, might help dry some tight spots?

If fuse sparks for radio when removed and when installed can I assume there’s a short?

Also wondering how to get the Musty smell out the car. Smells like dirt or something. And dust. Car is dry and I have two damprid containers currently and some air fresheners.

Radio light issue persists
