Long Travel Kits

I’ve been looking at long travel kits and it seems there’s no issue bolting on a long travel kit from the Silverado.

The problem lies with the rear. The closest I’ve found is a Fabtech extended upper rear arm but does nothing for a wider track.

What do you think about Dirt King long travel front, 2.5” king shocks all around, Fabtech extended upper rear arm and 2/3” spacers on the rear?

Otherwise, Dort King said if we can get 12+ people interested in a long travel rear they can create a product. Any interest?

You are the only Tahoe I've seen that has King shocks. I am for sure interested at some point...

I would definitely be interested to hear what they would build! I almost pulled the trigger on a set of tuned shocks from Accutune, but hesitated because long travel is in the long term plans and would rather save to make that happen sooner.

Yah, for 99% of what I do the air suspension is perfect but I can see the appeal and performance factor of the coilovers.

From what I have researched any LT kit for a 2019+ Silverado will fit. I ended up going #kingshocks, 285/75-17 #toyotmt #methodracewheels #mazzulaoffoad UCA's #amppowerboards I need to re-valve the kings for rutted fire roads. I will try front 10/10-Flutter-17/17 and rear 10/10-Flutter-15/15 I did have to do some triming for the front. Once I can afford to do LT right I will see what #lsk has to offer.

Damn that looks good...looks like Southern California in the background there. How much did the Kings run you? We're they Tahoe/Suburban specific or Silverado shocks?

Btw regarding the Silverado LT suspension kits, we run IRS so to my knowledge Silverado rear suspension isn't compatible with our platform. Have you found something showing otherwise?

I am in SoCal. The photo is St George in the background. I got the Kings from Core Tire in San Bernardino (best tire shop experience ever). I do not recall how much, but they were pricey. Most of everything front-end is compatible with Silverado. King makes IFS rear-specific shocks for the platform.

Utah? Man I need to get out more...good to know on the IRS suspension parts, I thought we were stuck with the light duty/generic stuff. At this point I'm just building a parts list, I've got a couple years before our youngest is ready for real off-roading without turning into a bobble head so no rush. I'd rather save up for the right parts rather than rushing along with the parts I can afford right now.

I just got a job where i would have to drive 50 miles a day on a terrible backroad with potholes inside of potholes, rocks the size of basketballs popping up everywhere, and feet of snow in the winter. My solution is long travel tahoe.

Well from what Trailzrider said it appears the IFS long travel components from the later Silverados fit our trucks and King apparently makes IRS components for our rigs. Honestly at this point if I had the time and the money to pull the trigger I would call King directly and see what their people have to say and then find a local suspension/off-road shop and talk to them. Thus far nobody makes a comprehensive LT suspension kit (or even a good suspension lift kit) for the late model Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban.

Outside of custom suspension setups there still aren't any true, blue long travel kits, but King and more importantly Icon both now have suspension kits for our trucks. Icon has a real comprehensive kit consisting of the 4 2.5 series coilover lift shocks, upper control arms, and rear toe links. They also offer reservoir shocks, but for some reason those aren't available as a kit. So it's still not going to be a trophy truck, but you should be able to startle a few Raptor boys.

Side note SDI offers a universal reservoir upgrade allowing you to add an electronically adjustable reservoir to any reservoir shock.
