That huge screen is horrendous. That atrocity alone would be the deciding factor for me. I hate the big screen fad. I Must be getting old I guess. I won't have to worry about it anyways as we bought the '21 yukon with plans to drive it 10 years (knock on wood)

You could order it with the 12" horizontal screen as the standard feature. The 15" vertical screen is an option.

Yeah. Bigger screens are coming everywhere. Tesla started a trend. If you don’t like it, you’ll probably have to buy an older car. Only a matter of time before they Tesla size screens are standard.

They also aren’t that expensive anymore but when you introduce it compared to a normal/small screen from N old model they can add a good chunk to the MSRP.

What I hate about LCD screens is the amount of light they emit. Bigger screens will emit more light. When driving in the dark, I usually dim my dash to minimum, but even then, the screens are sometimes too bright. Thank goodness most have a way to turn the display off, although it’s often tucked in about 3 menus deep.

That big screen should be detachable like an old pull-out car stereo, then you could use it as a tablet when you leave the vehicle.

Good lord that screen is terrible. I personally don’t mind bigger screens (the Ram one blends in much better and is ok, not great to my eye) but I hate when they protrude out/up/away from the dash like that. I would not ever buy one like that. But then again, I would never buy any of the new tahoes or Yukons aside from the Denali for the same reason. Those screens, though smaller and horizontal, look stupid popped way up like they do IMHO.

maybe based on where you live, that should be a feature because if someone broke into your car I can easily see them trying to rip it off the dashboard lol

the Denali screen certainly looks much more nicer how its integrated into the dash, but I personally prefer the screen to be located higher up where it is located on the Tahoe or regular Yukon. I'm taller so I am not a fan of having to look more downwards

I like the dash on the new Escalade, it all flows together well. The dash on the Yukon/Tahoe looks like the screen was added after the dash was designed, and what's with the little door?

Only concern for me if I’m buying that is it’s OLED. That can have burn-in issues down the road

If you can afford an Esky, you don’t worry about things like “burn in”….
besides the displays show the same thing 95% of the time so what’s to burn in? These displays aren’t like the tv’s of old.

I mean, when I spend $100k plus on a car I’d be pretty Pissed off if the screen ends up having issues after a few years, regardless if I can afford to get it replaced.

And it really depends on what burns in. If it’s something on the main dashboard that you’d function for choosing apps, navigation, radio etc…..that’s pretty annoying. And I don’t know what you mean by the “TVs of old”. Brand new OLEDS still have burn in issues. And OLEDs pretty much hit the scene mainstream 3 years ago.

The little door is where you put your sunglasses.

I like that red stitching but the controls for the hvac/heated seats/heated steering wheel on that screen would get old really quick. I very much prefer having a physical button for most functions. I really wish our '21 yukon had that quick and easy camera button like the newer ones have. I never toggle the cameras as is because it requires too much digging around to get there

Can’t you drag a camera shortcut to the Home Screen?

Yes you can move them but if you’re trying to quickly pull into a parking spot or parallel park or something I’m not trying to hit the home button then hit the camera icon then select the camera. With the button I’d imagine you could quickly toggle the views and have what you want pulled up before you’re even ready to park. That said it’s not very often I feel I would need the cameras but once in a while it could be helpful
