It's been a relatively long journey for this vehicle. Figuratively and literally. It started about 9 months ago with my search of a Yukon AT4. After months of lurking on the GMC Inventory website, I couldn't seem to get one with the specs that I wanted. And when one finally popped up, it was pre-sold. It took me a while to jump on the "custom order" bandwagon, but when I did, I was out of time and needed a vehicle almost immediately. During my long online search, I saw this Redwood Metallic AT4 down in Mississippi, but didn't think I'd actually own it. Mind you, I had never seen the Redwood Metallic color in person, so if I got it and it didn't appear to be what I had envisioned the color to be, I would have been stuck with it for a very long time. It did have most of the basic options that I wanted, and it wasn't the typical white, black, silver, red, and blue cars you see on the streets and freeways here in Los Angeles, so I took a leap of faith and pulled the trigger.

Words can't even begin to describe the excitement and enthusiasm I had when I first laid eyes on this color. It was absolutely STUNNING!!! And I do mean stunning. Pictures really don't do this color justice, and my hat goes off to the engineer and/or executives at GM that picked this color. By far, it is the best brown color I've seen on a vehicle EVER... (it's comparable to the 2022 Corvette "Caffeine" paint) Okay, enough with the small talk, let's look at some pictures.

Congrats - the website pictures do not do justice of how well that looks. And its completely different looking in the sun compared to the dark grey day pictures you had taken when leaving the MS dealer.

I ordered aftermarket wheels, the full interior protection package (fitted laser cut rubber mats), and cargo containment (cargo cover & cargo net) on Friday. I'll get that in two weeks. I also had the windows tinted with 3M ceramic film two hours ago.

The 3M shop offers a full clear wrap but they wanted over $8k to do it. I asked if he can do better on the price, so he's going to get back to me. That includes detailing, and the entire vehicle wrapped in a protective 3M film, guaranteed for 10 years.

I wouldn’t see the need to do the whole car, just front bumper, partial hood and maybe door edges would protect u from where 99% of dings/chips happen.

I dont like how it looks like something is missing off the front cause of the jacked up angle in the front. That is the biggest complaint at my dealership among customers is the front end is missing something.

I take it you don't live in California... lol... The people here are passive aggressive enough to scratch your car (sometimes purposely) without batting an eye and will keep on going without so much as an apology or insurance info swap. The feeling is even worse when you go to enjoy yourself somewhere, then come outside to see the damage on your vehicle... So yeah, people are ruthless like that here.

The salesman and manager in Mississippi was expecting me to fly down there to get the vehicle, but I explained there was this thing called FedEx whereby you can mail the documents and have me sign them in front of a notary public... Kidding, just kidding. I didn't explain that to them, but they did actually think I'd fly there to get it and drive home.

But it’s not. It’s very obviously designed like that and in person it is not missing anything. And since only z71 and AT4’s have the “off road” front bumper, you and your customers are free to buy any of the other models and trim packages and enjoy the bumper and valance hanging low…LS, LT, RST, Premier, High Country, Escalade, Denali, SLE, & SLT…….

Look at a ZR2 Colorado…..nothing in front of the front tires.

It’s all a matter of preference lol. Some people like it and some people hate it.

Personally I think that color is ugly and the OP loves it (sorry OP!). Does that mean I am wrong? Or he is? No, we all have opinions. But it’s his car and that’s what he wants.

People may want an off-road Tahoe or Yukon but don’t like that design.

The sales numbers will ultimately speak for themselves and if that trim isn’t selling they’ll maybe change it if that same feedback is widely provided. If it sells just as they anticipate they’ll leave it.

They are selling every single thing they make and the AT4/Z71 package is extremely popular.
