My truck has been stolen twice in the last year. Each time recovered days later smelling like strawberry swishers, things missing, torn up.

So, I disconnect the battery, as well as pull various relays to prevent it from being started when parked.

Now, it keeps getting broken into (every few days), everything gets ransacked... The amp is gone, stereo gone. Rear audio controls, cup holders, everything has been stolen.

Before they take the seats, I'd like to install an alarm with a paging feature, which will notify me if someone goes inside my truck...

Any recommendations??

Move somewhere else?

@Doubeleive and some others have some decent security systems on their rigs.

every few days? are you replacing glass every few days or door locks? or???
you can get a 2-way alarm with about 1 mile range there are various brands and models out there just hit up the local car stereo shops, prices may vary
if you want something better it just cost's more, the cheaper alarms just have less range some no more than a vehicle key fob.

I've replaced the glass approx 40-50 times in the last 5 years. For a while I started leaving the doors unlocked to save money on glass replacements, but started finding used syringes and weird smells in my truck, so now keep it locked. The thieves however have become more savvy, and now oftentimes pick the lock (evidenced by the scratched up key hole). My ignition no longer needs a key to start the engine. No more steering lock when in Park, hence why I pull the relays (and also removed the hood release lever).

I don't want to move out of the city just yet, I like my job, and I live in one of the nicest/safest neighborhoods in the city (San Francisco - Inner Richmond District). I regularly see Sean Penn or Sharon Stone at traffic lights or cafes. I met Robin Williams at Walgreens years ago, all of which tells you the type of neighborhood this is... Quiet, filled with families, kids, students, yoga moms. Super safe in the day, although at night the property crime gets crazy (our elected officials defund Police, and need this crime to justify expenditures on various programs and job creation, which results in income tax revenue for the city... so, its not going away any time soon).

I just need to figure out a way to get notified when someone is inside my truck.

Sounds like the only thing that is going to fix your problem is some law in your town. By law, either law enforcement, or you posting up on your porch with your favorite rifle and sidearm. Noting your location neither of those is an option.

Have you considered a security camera with motion detection that notifies you and records when motion is detected?

Indeed. I have a camera pointed at the truck 24/7... When it got stolen the first time, I had a nice clip of footage of the headlights turning on, and it driving away.

The police officer I spoke with submitting the theft report told me that if I had a clear shot of their face, they would very likely be able to immediately recognize/identify the thieves since 80% of the auto thefts in the city are the same repeat offenders (approx 30-35 people), who get released over and over, and oftentimes steal a car as means of getting home when released from jail. This was crazy to hear.

Man, you need to move out of the area. I understand liking the job and seeing celebs from time to time, but with the amount of times you have had stuff stolen isn't worth it. Or just sell the truck and get a bike you can park inside. You couldn't pay me enough to move to California anymore.
