so I was trying to change the rear wiper but the nut is so rusted on it spun the shaft, so I tired to pop the rear glass to get to the rest of my tools and it won't pop open, removed the interior panel and checked voltages and continuity and they're both good, I dont. know which is the signal wire though.

my question is if I fried the wiper motor does it effect the window popper since they share a blue wire?

If you have the inner panel off you can open the window manually by pushing on the lever that the actuator moves...

I misunderstood... so your wanting to still have use of the release button until you get the wiper motor sorted... have you tried unplugging the wiper motor...?

@89Suburban I think rigged his to work without the wiper motor, crossed a couple wires up to make it happen
otherwise it's a safety feature so you don't accidentally wiper you face off while trying to open the rear glass hatch, the wiper arm has no mercy.

the wiper arm broke off and the nut is rust welded onto the shaft, until I get time to source a wiper motor I won't have a wiper arm so hopefully no decapitation by wiper arm

ya unless it detects the arm in the "parked" position it won't let you open the hatch, on the pre-07 trucks it was a easy work around the sensor was right there when you took the inside panel off, these are integrated into the wiper motor, should 6 wires on the harness the 2 bigger wires are power so that narrows it down to 4, 2 of those wires will probably be normally open or normally closed (electrical wise) and will be what deactivates the glass hatch, the remaining 2 should be the intermittent speed on/off function. I am just guessing could be just one wire either grounded or ungrounded as well.
