(Another) New dude here with a new (2019) Z71 Tahoe!

I didn’t want to hijack the other thread, but I’m seeking similar advice as the similarly named thread…

I have a bone stock 2019 Z71 (non-luxury package). The only options it has beyond LT Z71 is a sunroof and navigation.

I’d like to improve its off-road worthiness. Not looking to do any rock climbing or anything like that. From both an appearance and off road capability standpoint I’d say I’m going for, “what a Z71 should have been from the factory.”

I’m a buy-once-cry-once kind of person, and considering I’m not looking to do anything too drastic, budget isn’t a concern.

It also has to fit in my garage—currently has about 4 inches clearance to spare.

I believe I’ve decided on 32 inch tires, prob KO2 or Duratrac, 255/70/18 or 275/65/18. I should be able to get my dealer to switch my wheel size to factory 22” to get my speedo calibration right. I don’t want to introduce aftermarket tuner for warranty/extended service contract purposes.

I’m ok with level or less rake, also.

What would you do if you were me?

Here you go. 2.5 F / 1.5 R, with a 285/50/22 (33")

looks like it should, by no means did it make anything more capable...that is not going to happen with any type of stock suspension, no matter how high it sits. this was a non z71, with premium ride suspension only.

Well if budget isn't a problem, I'd look at getting King 2.5" coilovers with reservoirs and adjusters for the front and back. Then an upgraded upper control arm. Mazzulla makes their own billet uniball upper control arms, or you can go with Cognito which also is very good and offers uniball or balljoint. The coilovers will get you about 2-3" of lift in the front and will be the best option for sure.

Those kings are interesting. I’m assuming their on-road manners are good as well?

No personal experience but from what I've heard, they are great on road too. Also, I'd look for a 17-18" wheel and 33" tires. More sidewall the better off road.

I would say the king should be decent on road as well, having several dodges on large diameter bilsteins...they are amazing in all environments. They are specifically valved to my preference...but the king can / does offer the same.

Level it and keep the 18 inch wheels with the aforementioned 275-65-18 or 275-70-18 for a 33 inch tire. It's quite capable as is.

2019 Z71 with 2.5” motofab level stock rear and 275/70r18 toyo mt. I haven’t had any rubbing yet.
