I ordered a 2021 Yukon SLT Diesel on June 24th. No one will give me an order time frame. The Dealers, nor GMC themselves are helping. Have been without a car since I turned in my leased vehicle last August 2020. Does anyone know how long from order to delivery these days? I don't want to buy a temporary car until mine comes in:/

Have you done online chat at GMC.com to check the status of the order? It is a bot until you do not answer the question(s) like they want, then they send you to a live person. I would put my name in, then click on checking the status of vehicle order, then when they asked if I was in the United States, I would hit enter and it would cause an error and then would send me to a live person.

Ask them in chat to give you the status code and they will. Or there is a GM news forum that has an order tracking thread that works well.

If it was accepted in the system, it should be a current event status of 3100. Next time you do online chat, ask for the current event code.

Guys - Just be aware that when ordering a vehicle, both the Dealer and GM have roles in that process. GM allocates a certain # of orders per month per dealer that will get fulfilled based on their manufacturing capacity, the size of the Dealer, etc. Obviously, capacity is lower at the moment due to all of the supply chain issues. However, part of the game is your Dealer ultimately decides the prioritization of your order vs. all of the orders they have for other customers. Bad Dealers will also prioritize ordering for their show floor (lot) above customer orders since you're already committed and they see more sales by stocking the lot.

This isn't a GM thing - it's how all dealers work. Just be aware, since you ideally are working through a good Dealer who is honest and transparent with you on where your order will be prioritized and if it will be in that month's GM allocation. Having "an order in" doesn't really mean much with the Dealer committing to you where you'll be prioritized in their order backlog. Some people mistakenly think that GM ships in the same order as orders are placed regardless of which dealer the order was placed at. It doesn't work that way. Not saying the OP's dealer is jerking him around, but you need to be aware of rules of the game. Usually, for full sized SUVs/Trucks, manufacturing volume is more than enough to cover all orders, so it's not a factor. But we're not currently in a normal environment.

Was just at my dealer yesterday and new 2021 order accepted until Aug 1st 2021 build out I believe was 10/1. So no orders have been cancelled by GM and you can’t put a 22 order in yet for at least a Tahoe. I’m fairly certain GMC and Cadillac would be similar if not the same.

My dealer told me yesterday that today was the last day orders would be accepted/pulled. BUT depending on what you order and the constraints, just because the order was put in, doesn't mean it will be accepted. My order was placed 6/4. Its at code 1100. It will be cancelled today and have to be reordered as a 22 bc of the constraints. Theres a difference between the dealership being able to put in an order in and GM accepting it for build. Id wager a bet unless you ordered a base model something that nothing thats been ordered the last few weeks will be made due to the numerous constraints.

So I'd say based on what you order and what options you wanted, you could be looking at several months instead of weeks. I'll be lucky to get mine my the end of the year I'd guess unless I'm willing to accept a lesser product.

I wonder if the current canceled orders have more to do with dealer allocation. That being said I’m 99.5% sure I will end up with a 2022. Mine has been 1100 status since May 12.

Mine said they had the allocation. Just the constraints were the issue
