Spark plugs

What spark plugs do you all like best? I have always used bosch in all my cars.

I have been using the Bosch +4 Platinum-Iridium Fusion spark plugs for 2.5+ years now and the engine still runs really smooth. I used Bosch before and decided to put these on the hoe.

+1 ON THE BOSCH...... been lookin at those pulsars or pulstars whatever u callem.... prolly gonna stick with the Boschs since i been usin them along time especially since those pulsars are $15 a pop

I don't really know about those pulstar's because we installed a set on a friend's 5.3L Monte Carlo SS and when we took out a few after like 3-5k they really looked like crap. They looked excessively worn, and that was with a motor that only had 15k on it. So he opted to go with a set of Bosch plugs.

well then u def sealed the deal for me then..... sounds like they might make a good plug for a lawnmower ha ha ha

Im running NGK. 55's I think. Several people on here have em. Works great and if you make the gap .04 even better!

what are the advantages of having a .04 gap?

Couldn't tell you an exact answer but this is what I remember of what I was told. It shortens the gap for the spark to jump making it ignite faster and more efficiently. IIRC GM changed the OEM stats (dont know to what) for gaping plugs and this .04 gap is a step more towards performance. Maybe someone can chime in and correct/expand on what I said. hope this helps!

It's all about stock replacement A/C Delcos. I tried the Bosch +4, the NGKs, and couldn't tell the difference in any of em so I save money and put stocks in there.

i use the bosch +4s and well i found they were a lot better than stock but i also went with msd 8.5mm wires

This. Why waste the money if you're stock?

I think it also had to do with rough idle complaints.

I am still on the Iridiums at 152K.

The NGK TR55's and TR6's are the most common;y used in the LSx community that I know of. I have TR55's in my Camaro, though stepping up to the TR6's for my heads/cam package. Truck will prob get a fresh set of TR55's them come time for a tune up.

There is no need to run anything other than OEM plugs unless you have forced induction. i.e. supercharger. It is a waist of money in my opionion.

Replaced the OE AC plugs at 100K with the Same Stock plug
The OE looked VERY good with 100K so why change if it is not broke
do not try to fix it

Just threw some Autolites in today. Nothing special, just the $1 plugs.
