(Apologies to Jamie Johnson.) Sunday's Chicago Tribune had a story about the 2021 Escalade--"Ready for hands-free driving?" The last sentence of the article: "The 2021 Escalade 4WD Sport Premium I tested had a sticker price of $113,065."

I don't think people buy an Escalade to be obscure, nor do they care.
As far as I'm concerned, if you can drop 100K+ for a vehicle and like it? .... Who cares what others think!
I remember when that was the price of a nice house. I’ll never spend that much on something that depreciates so fast.
And I remember when I paid $27,000 for my first new truck...a 2004 Chevrolet Z71. But, those days are long gone too.
I have the last gen Escalade snd the seats are outstanding. Took mine in for service snd sat in the new one, wow, the seats are even better than before.I've heard the complaints about the seats, and I just don't get it. The Escalade is the most comfortable sitting vehicle I've ever owned and it's not even close. I prefer it over my buddy's Black Label Navigator.
