Yeah that is true. Only reason I went that route was so I could get the truck up and running right away but ended up with the wrong part in the end.

I had a 95 Tahoe years ago. The only code I ever had was for the EGR. Never replaced it because it ran fine. Then after maybe a year it started to run like crap sometimes so I replaced some of the "cheap parts" but still had the issue. Then I remembered the EGR code from a while back. Disconnected the EGR and it always ran fine after that.

So how'd it go?

Also have a 95 and replaced the EGR valve and solenoid this Sunday; ACDelco 214-2286 and 214-329 respectively. Also picked up the hard vacuum tubing at O'Reilly for about $7. Three feet was enough to replace all the hard lines. Runs super smooth now.

Had failed smog this past Friday with a high NOx reading. Vacuum tested the EGR valve and it failed. Never threw a code since it never met the EGR testing conditions. Slight stumble at acceleration though. Smogging again tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.

I haven’t got the parts yet but should have them tomorrow

Okay well AC Delco EGR came into so I swapped it out and it still throws code 32 :( Runs great, starts excellent now when hot. I am at a loss why it continues to throw code. Maybe the intake passages are blocked?? not sure. I guess I need to check the new EGR solenoid make sure it is not NFG like the temperature sensor was and check the map sensor as well.

Yeah if it turns out to be that the old girl can keep throwing the code :) I have done the intake gaskets on that truck and it is a pain in the arse. At least I fixed the hard start issue .......
