I'm new to this forum, but I've had a 2013 Suburban LT for three years. The main reason I went with this trim level is because I have three children, and I tend to haul a bunch of stuff. The second row bench gives the option of riding with the entire family, and still carrying something big.

My question for all of you is, how common is it to find a 2016 - 2018 Yukon XL or a Suburban with the 6.2L AND a bench seat? I've been looking forever.

the yukon would be the easiest as the 6.2 was more readily available in the denali trim level...problem is, most were 2nd row capatain.

like stated, find a reasonable bargain, and many are willing to swap there 2nd row bench for captain.

belive me, i have 4 littles, and finding a suburban they way we wanted was a task.

I had no idea that captains could be swapped for a bench. You all just helped me in a major way! My next question is, What does a second row bench for a Denali XL look like? I've never even seen one in person.

dependent on trim level, the suburban interior should match the denali...again, the higher level leather should have a similar seat covering pattern.

A few things to keep in mind and some of this may not be an issue in the 2015-2020 years, but they were in the 2007-2014 years when I made this swap.

You will like need to swap seats from vehicles with the same wheel base.
Makes sure the bench seat you get have the same options as the captains you are removing if you want true plug and play. This is more of an issue if you have power fold and heated seats currently.
There used to be a slight difference in leather. When I did this swap in my 2007 Denali XL, the bench that I got was from a Suburban LTZ and the leather had a different texture. Wasn't an issue, but something to keep in mind.

Not sure how the 2015-2020 units deal with this, but in the 2007-2014 vehicles, the floor trim pieces that go over the floor frames are different between the bench and the captains.

Very uncommon. It is an option with the Denalis, but it's not often checked. Your best option is to find a bench that was made for a different (5.3 Yukon, Suburban, etc) truck, change the upholstery to match and put it in. I don't know if you'd be giving up the seat heaters. Don't know if the 6.2 Suburbans came with benches, but not sure the engine size makes any difference.

The #1 reason we bought our 2016 Denali was the rear bench. Rare as hen's teeth to find on the lot, unless factory ordered (which mine was, apparently, and then the guy who ordered it backed out). I went in to the parts counter, saw it sitting there, saw the rear bench, and it was a done deal. Good luck with your search.

I'm on my second Yukon Denali and with both I decided to special order it so I could get the second row bench seat - They are rare in the wild!
