Yes the interior lights goes off but radio stays playing but if I open the read driver door it shuts off. Can it be a door switch if so, what is the part number for the driver door switch and do you have to replace the entire door lock mechanism? I have tried pulling both RAP (Retained Accessory Power Relay) and it keep power to it and playing. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine does time out in 10 minutes or as soon as I open the driver's door.

I am by myself so I have never opened another door to see if that effects that.

Let me rephrase, when I turn off the ignition and remove the key and open the drivers door the radio stays playing and does not turn off.
Ah, gotcha. Could be the driver's door switch. I know the dome light comes on as soon as you take the key out of the ignition. What happens if you leave the key in but open the door? Does the dome light come on?

I wish he would have stated the amount of time that took, from the start to the finished product and completely back together. I would just get a new one because I don't have the patience to do all that and I have the money for that replacement. It is a great thread and shows how to save some money but that is some tedious work. I can be more of a bull in a China shop.

It didn't take that long. I probably spent 30 minutes on the R&R and 30 minutes disassembling/re-assembling the latch and cleaning the switch.
