@DurrtyBurB : if you found a new way to skin a cat, please think about posting a guide including what specific parts you are using. It will be welcome information.
Definitely working that. Just working out all the details. Now looking for a switched 12V so the fans only run when the engine is running. Haven’t found any posts about that.

Got some cutting to do...

16f4e3b0d2d91cbf3acfb7928d16bbff.jpg

Also pulled the dash apart again, so I could data log for BBP.. have to pull 3 fuses to get it to read correctly. Black Bear says my gas is less than stellar quality.. not sure what to use. I always run E85, and here (Denver), that means I fill up at *** & Go, since they have the E85 market cornered in these parts.. I believe they are supposed to be top tier fuels, but any suggestions are welcome. I filled the last 2 tanks with unleaded 91 octane, since BB wanted a data log with the 91 octane. Hope the log reveals something.

Why do you have to pull the dash apart to data log? Are there fuses you can’t get to without that?

Yup. I have to pull the radio (underhood), but also the 2 for the remote start, which are in the lower dash. [emoji19]

Those should be located behind the interior fuse box cover where you can get to them. Who installed that? They can be relocated. Fuses shouldn’t be in an inaccessible location. Why not move them, Sam?

What Mark said! It’s got to be a PITA to take the dash apart every time just to get those fuses out for data logs...

Yeah, I should move them.. just haven’t done it. Good idea though. Another project to get done! [emoji16][emoji106] I have a long list of work to do on the Yukon, and my grandmother-in-law is moving in Saturday! [emoji15] we’re giving up our main level master, so she doesn’t have to deal with stairs, and retreating to the basement.. which also means I need to finish the bathroom down there ASAP! Been painting the house for a couple weeks now in spare time. It’s going to be a ride!

She’s a super great grandma. Had to sell her house that she and hubby bought in 1969, with a pool and all, in Sacramento just last week. This year has been rough. First my wife’s dad, then her uncle passed away. Uncle Keith was grandma’s caretaker after her husband passed away, and then Keith died of pancreatic cancer just about a month ago. So we’re happy to have her. Still tough to think about all that’s gone on this year so far. Whenever I see grandma Joyce, Keith’s presence was a given. [emoji22]

So nice to hear how much you care about her. You hear so many horror stories about elder abuse. Makes me sick, and so sad. Imo America DOES NOT respect or care for their elderly as they should. Younger people today can't or don't think far enough ahead to realize that they'll be old some day. Everyone gets old one day.

Amen brother! We don’t want our parents / grandparents to go to a home unless it’s absolutely necessary. My grandpa in San Jose turned 99 just last month, and he’s still a bowler!! [emoji106][emoji16][emoji631]

Yeah my daughter works at an elder care facility as a nurse assistant, and going to school to be a nurse which she is a couple months away from. Last night she was telling me about a client that she spent a half hour brushing her hair because nobody had taken the time to do for a long time so it was a mess. The lady was Russian and didn’t speak much English but she knew how to say thank you much. They just need some compassion but most workers in those facilities don’t care. And right now it’s super important because they haven’t been able to see family since Covid hit. They’re just so alone right now, and so many have died alone lately. My daughter is a great person who cares. She has seen some of her favorite clients die of Covid over the last few months which is ******* her. She is my own personal hero.
