finally decided to replace the burnt out fog. ( did replace them both, but this pic shows the comparison) Matches color temp with headlights and switchbacks much closer. Not a huge difference in output compared to 899s. Didnt take it on the road to compare unfortunately.

Went with these:

I added three USB ports to the back of the cubby hole in my Denali center console two of them are for charging I'll take the power from the cigarette charger the other one plugs into the back of the stereo the cigarette lighter door now holds my subwoofer volume

And then I had to move the double USB the clear part of the internal structure

I want to extend the actual steel cable with the ball at the end. The cable that sticks out of the blue clip View attachment 253138
how far do you need to extend it?
you can make a bracket and it would give you whatever room there is before it stops when open
you can attach one end where the ball currently is then on your bracket drill a hole and make a slot to insert the cable, giving you an 1" or whatever you need

you could use some picture hanging wire also and just make yourself a cable as long as you wanted
Wonder what Dave has up his sleeve now:D

Changed the rear brakes on the 2001

Son told me Wednesday afternoon that he thinks the Yukon needs new brakes or something, because it has a weird grinding noise whenever he applies the brakes. I replaced everything (calipers, rotors, pads) about 5 years ago.

Today around noon he went out for a few hours and when he got back he asked if I could look at it. He thinks the sound is coming from the front. I jacked up drivers side and pulled wheel off and looked at the brakes. Looked good with plenty of pad, at least 1/4".

After putting wheel back on and lowering it he wanted me to drive it around the block. Started to back down driveway, which is over 100ft long, I could hear the grinding coming from the back. It got worse when I applied the brake. Pulled it back up to the garage and jacked up the rear and pulled the wheel. The rear brake pads were down to the wear bars. That's what the grinding sound was, them riding on the rotor.

Used the Denali to go pick up new ceramic pads and rotors at the parts store

Oh, and the other day when I went to move it to the other side of the driveway so I could get the Denali out of the garage, I noticed the blower motor was making a weird low growl to it.

I asked him about it and he said it just started doing that the day before. I told him sometimes a small leaf will find it's way in there but that usually sounds like a ticking noise.

I have a spare blower motor sitting in it's box on a shelf in the garage (ordered a long time ago thinking it went out but it wasn't the case and never returned it) so I showed him how easy it is to get to the blower motor and resistor pack. When I pulled the blower motor out I noticed a small leaf stuck in it's fins....lol.

Removed leaf and had him turn the key on and turn on the fan. Worked and sounded fine, so I re-installed it and buttoned up the kick panel cover.

Still haven't used that new blower motor. I wonder if the Denali takes the same motor?
