Has anyone else run into this before?
What did you do to get your steering wheel controls back?

Did you clip any wires in there when pulling the cd changer out maybe by accident? Or maybe there’s a shorted wire somewhere behind the cd changer.... I don’t have that problem but here’s a new one! My new headunit went in last week and after the headunit install all but one of my interior done lights are dark when I open the door and they are in the on position... I’m like what the heck did the installer do to make my dome lights not work.... :banghead:

Did you just unplug it? When I deleted mine I replaced the HU with a Pioneer DD and PAC harness and steering wheel control interface. If you’re leaving your factory HU in, try plugging the changer in again and see if they come back. That will answer your question. If they do, maybe you can just relocate the changer behind the dash somewhere so you can use your controls.

He's using an aftermarket Kenwood dd unit.

Tony is correct, I'm using an aftermarket hu and the pac adapter. When I deleted the CD changer, I threw the cd changer away and I did not notice the swc's didn't work until months later when I drove the truck. I didn't really care if they worked or not at the time because I was going to replace the hu in the future and figure I could get the SWC's to work with the new hu and pac adapter. Well that didn't happen. I'm going to recheck all the wires and see if I might have the swc wire wired in the wrong place.

And follow up with what I mentioned in the PM’s.

Following up to close the thread, I ordered new steering wheel contols to trouble shoot and sure thing the new controls worked. I guess the old ones burned up some how. I'm glad I'm able to use them now.
